💭 One of the greatest blessings when you live overseas is having a reliable and trustworthy person back home who can help manage your investments and dreams.

Many Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora work day and night, sacrificing comfort, family time, and peace of mind to build something meaningful back home. Some dream of starting farms, businesses, schools, or building houses for their families.

Sadly, many of these dreams have been destroyed—not because of a lack of money, but because of betrayal.

People they trusted the most ended up lying, stealing, mismanaging funds, or neglecting projects. Years of hard work and sacrifice abroad have been wasted because of dishonesty.

This is why many people in the diaspora prefer to keep their money in foreign banks instead of investing back home.

Trust is priceless.

If we truly want development in Sierra Leone, we must learn to be honest, accountable, and faithful with the opportunities and responsibilities given to us.

A trustworthy person can help build a nation. A dishonest one can destroy generations of dreams.

There are certain moments in one's life that you perceive the world in a different way.

People often treat you differently when you have nothing, most people value you when you have something to offer them. Respect becomes harder when you have nothing. However cherish those who stand with you in trying times. Success attracts lots of people whilst failure drives even those you consider Family. Moral of the lesson " mortalman na weather ".
Wuna good morning.

💔 PART 2: WHY I REALLY LEFT SALONE
People think say na just “travel” I travel.
But nobody really ask:
👉🏾 “Why you sef decide leave?”
Truth be told…
E no be say I just want go abroad for enjoyment.
I was tired.
Tired of waking up every day with no clear future.
Tired of hoping for opportunities that never come.
Tired of seeing my certificate… but no job to show for it.
Back home for Salone…
You fit go school, graduate, even get sense…
But if connection no dey, if luck no show,
you go just dey manage life.
Sometimes, e reach point wey:
👉🏾 You dey feel like say you dey fail…
even when na the system fail you.
Then pressure start:
Family go ask:
👉🏾 “So wetin you dey do now?”
Friends go dey move forward small small…
And you go just dey compare yourself.
That feeling?
E heavy.
So when I see small opportunity to travel…
I no even think twice.
I tell myself:
👉🏾 “Anywhere better pass here.”
But now I know…
Everywhere get him own struggle.
You fit run from one problem…
go meet another one wey even harder.
But I no regret am.
Because this journey don teach me:
strength
patience
and the real meaning of survival
This story no be just my own.
Na for: ❤️ Every young graduate wey dey struggle in Salone
❤️ Every woman wey carry hope travel go abroad
❤️ Everybody wey dey fight silently
If you understand this feeling…

🇸🇱 Happy Independence Day Sierra Leone 🇸🇱
Today no be just celebration… today na reminder.
Reminder say we come from struggle.
Reminder say our forefathers fight for freedom wey we dey enjoy today.
But make we tell ourselves the truth…
Freedom no mean say life easy.
As a young Sierra Leonean, you sabi the reality:
No enough jobs…
Dreams dey die before dem even start…
Many of us forced for lef home go abroad go hustle.
We go thinking say life go better fast…
But when we reach there, na another struggle we meet.
Work dey, yes… but bills, loneliness, and pressure dey swallow everything.
Still… we no give up.
Because inside every Sierra Leone youth,
there is strength,
there is resilience,
there is hope.
🇸🇱 This independence, I no wan just celebrate…
I wan remind every young girl, every graduate, every hustler:
Your story no end yet.
Even if the system fail you,
even if the journey hard,
even if nobody believe in you…
👉 KEEP GOING.
One day, we no go just survive…
we go build the Sierra Leone wey we deserve.
A Sierra Leone where young women no go need run abroad to succeed.
A Sierra Leone where dreams go get space to grow.
A Sierra Leone full of opportunities.
💚🤍💙
From struggle to strength… from pain to purpose…
We are the future.
Happy Independence Day 🇸🇱✨

🔹 PART 1: The Dream
“My journey no easy… 6 years for Cyprus full of hustle and lessons. Now I dey go back Africa with hope.”
Being a young woman in Sierra Leone no easy.
You go school with big dreams. You study hard, graduate, wear your gown with pride… everybody dey clap for you. Family go happy, neighbors go say “she don make am.”
But after that day… silence.
Reality go start.
You go dey send CV after CV. You go attend interviews. You go wait for calls wey no go come. The few jobs wey dey, dem no plenty—and most times, dem no favor women.
You go begin ask yourself: “All this education na for wetin?”
Pressure go start from everywhere.
Family dey expect help. Society dey expect success. But opportunity? E no dey.
Na so many young women begin think: “Maybe abroad na the solution…”
And that’s how the journey begins…
👉 To be continued (Part 2: The Reality Abroad)

Learn to love yourself, never put someone else's needs above yours. You're only allowed to love Allah alone more than your own self because Allah is the creator of the heaven and earth. Never starve so others can eat, because an empty bag cannot stand. There is no harm in helping others but as you help don't forget to look after yourself because at the end of the day you get only you.l hope this helps someone.
