POEM
" THE REASON FOR THE SEASON "
Nathan Conteh
In a World of Chaos
Turmoil and Misdirection
Then came a Prophesy
One of Redemption and Salvation
To a pretty Virgin Mary
In Isaiah it spoke ;
" Unto us a son is given "
In Mathew, Gabriel said;
" Blessed art thou Amongst women
And Blessed is the fruit
Of thy womb - JESUS

A birth filled in mystery
Special and sacred
A son to be called " Emmanuel "
Meaning God with Us
Even in our sins, He dwelled
With Us
He removed the Law
And gave Us - Grace
Even in our Turmoil
He became Prince of peace
To redeem us from our sins

Now it's Christmas
The SEASON Of Love
to Celebrate, Share
And commemorate, His Birth
But note, this Birth gave us life
A reason for living
In our merriment, we shouldn't
Forget the son
This is Xmas, Our saviour is Born
Christ, " THE REASON FOR THE SEASON "

" Don't Quit "
Nathan Conteh
Sometimes you think ;
Am I really gonna make it
Will my boat not sink
Again and again
We imagine;
Will my plant really bear fruit
Will my seed sprout
What If, things go South
But Yet, Don't quit !!

Failure isn't fatal
Try Again
If you Believe
Seven times man fall
Seven times will he rise again
Stand !! live !!
Believe, you'll do it
Don't quit

Be Courageous, carry-on
The road maybe long
But be strong
Don't Quit
You gotta prove dem wrong
You've got to make some proud
Be Motivated, even When hated
Don't Quit........
Yes, You can be pressed
Don't fright
Sit, breathe and continue
If not now, when?

If you quit Today
What will you say tomorrow
Let Tomorrow be the motivation
For Today
Find a Way
Don't Quit , Stay
Make it count
Endure to Excell.....

Words, Sentences and Statements composed are soothing to the Ears, but none could reflect how; The letters were joined, the ideas gotten and the Inspiration logically and Thematically built. To Achieve the Effect of Educating, Motivating and Entertaining.

Writers go through a lot to build their Concept, this includes; Isolation, careful observation and critical Analysis.

At times, we battle with our imagination, We Edit, paste, cut and sometimes the Ideas are lost.We hit our pens on the paper for Hours, We try to relate with our messages first ( self-examination ).

The Life of a writer
Is not for the weak, because the messages are to be felt, the vibes must speak.

As Writers, we must Educate, Inform and Motivate..

This has been here.
that has been here.
Yes, I know
This System of Belief were with our forefathers
Yes, I know
But wait, what is the Benefit of Tradition if it doesn't benefit Us ?

F. G. M - Female Ge***al Mutilation
A practice considered Tradition
Pause, get the Explanation ;
A Girl or Lady
Will be taken for circumcision
Even if not Ready
To Cut their Ge***alia
In the personal Area
But, shhhhh .......... mi yone du

Let's do Justice
Consider the Pain
After all, what do we gain
No Medical benefits
Truth be told it's a bad practice
When it's done Boom! Bleeding
Some even couldn't get healing
They feel Infertility
Complications even Infection
Let's consider this Drama
Some will be Emotional
Others will end with Trauma

Tradition !! Tradition !!
One which ends with Repercussion
That should not be our portion
It must stop !! Yes
It must stop !!
Let's join Hands and stop F. G. M

You Occupy The Biggest Space In my Heart
IF I Imagine How Far, I've Sailed
And Where I Am, Now
I'll boldly say; " You laid the Foundation "
And to this I'll always acknowledge

I am a Collegian
It's OUR Home, Am an Indigene
The students, staffs are all
Seasoned

Our Home is a Palace
We are the Kings

We show exception, we don't race
Even at our Absence,
they feel our presence

Who is your Closest companion
One to love and depend on
To it when you feel weary
You take a step in hurry
One which serves as a sure Place
To gain Solace
Your " Closest Companion "

My Pen, Paper and Books
Are my closest companion
When I feel bored, to it I come
It keeps me company,
builds my confidence
And gives fun
My closest Companion

My pen and paper
Plays a Great role
The Pen on the paper, it ball rolls
Pouring out my Ideas
Thoughts, Confidence
Even my Fears
It Ink painting, what I think
So for me, My Pen and my Paper
Are " MY CLOSEST COMPANION "

Another close Companion
Are my Books
Which Inother to gain knowledge
On it pages I look
Chapter on Chapters
Studying Great characters
Learning Lessons
Building Courage And
Gaining Experience from Now
And the Past Age
In that Vain, Am Addicted to it Passage

At times, I feel dumb and silent
But " My Closest companion "
Helps me speak Volume
Day by Day our Relationship Continues
I hold on to them firmly
To them am closely Bonded.
Because ; " They Care",
Are always available
And are Real
