In the past, Refosco was commonly prescribed as a dietary supplement due to its richness in antioxidants and polyphenols. It was also a staple in the daily meals of many Istrian families.

Istrian Refosco is highly intense and rich in color. But it is not the only characteristic that makes it stand out, but also its highly aromatic and intense fruitiness, especially dark and red berries.
