Watercolour & Ink Pen with Alan Louis
2 Day WS - Capturing the streets
of Murray Bridge in Watercolour
This course will involve a combination of teacher demonstrations and
student practical work. Students will be guided step by step by tutor.
Introduction to materials and equipment, washes, wet on wet, wet on dry,
dry brush techniques. Practice on how to control colour values with water
and paint. How to paint individual shapes using a combination of
techniques. Gain a better understanding of the process to create
watercolour paintings using traditional techniques with a knowledge of
colour, tone & perspective. Aimed at all levels.
About the tutor:
Alan Louis R. is a multi award winner is his medium of watercolour.
Since migrating to Adelaide since 2007 he has won about 15 top awards and
60 combined awards . He has had 9 solo exhibitions and 4 group exhibitions.
Being a finalist in the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize was a highlight in
2002 and a finalist in the Pro Hart Landscape Art Prize2017 , Fleurieu Art
Prize and Adelaide Hills Landscape Art Prize 2017.
Presently he conducts watercolour classes , workshops for art societies and
art demonstrations at Rotary Art Shows, and Art Societies.
He likes the free flow of the watercolour medium as he lays the washes on
to the paper to create an atmospheric mood to the painting.

WHERE: Bridge Studio Central Train Control Building, Railway Reserve
Rd, Murray Bridge. - enter over lane bridge, opposite the
Bridgeport Hotel on Bridge St. Then follow the signs.
Sunday will involve some of the day on location, Cnr of
Bridge & Sixth St Murray Bridge, a short walk from the
studio. Please bring a hat, water bottle, sketch book &
pencils, light weight stool if you have one.
COST: $220 for non-members
