"Умер, погиб мой великий, гениальный товарищ. Мой, могу ли сказать, друг? Не знаю. Мой невыразимо важный для меня, для всех нас, очень близкий, необходимый человек. Мой любимый мучитель. Мой жестокий и нежный оппонент. Предмет моих бесконечных размышлений, сомнений, восторгов, раздражений и споров. С другими и с самим собой. Властитель дум. Великий разрушитель правил, систем, законов, сроков и бюджетов. Творец чрезвычайных ситуаций. Служитель мук и отчаяния. И волшебник, и колдун. И очень ранимый, бескожный, доверчивый ленинградский ребенок. Мудрый, капризный, неистовый, жестокий...

Какие слова сказать, чтобы вырвать из себя хотя бы часть этой боли! Как жить без тебя... С кем сверять свою жизнь... С кем делиться, спорить, кого утешать и поддерживать... С кем совпадать в ощущениях, радоваться, удивляться... На ком срывать ярость от своей беспомощности!

Для меня в последние 20 лет не было в профессии человека значимей и любимей тебя. Никто не доставлял мне столько боли и столько счастья.

Никто не любил тебя так, как наша театральная семья. Твоя команда. Твои артисты.

Прощай, любимый, непревзойденный, непостижимый, гениальный Юра."

Буду сейчас искать записи и отрывки из его спектаклей - "Р", "Сын", "Женитьба. Гоголь", "Все мы прекрасные люди", "Три сестры" и конечно, "Гоголь. Портрет"- спекталь 2024 года для Рижского театра. Бутусов уже 3 года не работал в России.

The new premiere of the Russian Balagan Theater «The Hateful Eight» took place on November 19th and 20st in the Black Box of National Library in Singapore.

We are living interesting period, at the junction of the virtual and real world. Which world do you think will win?
We would like to believe that the good old common sense eventually will win.
Let's learn how to doubt, ask uncomfortable questions, trust ourselves and not follow the crowd. There is nothing more valuable than life, and it certainly cannot be juggled with for the amusement of madmen.

Balagan Russian Theater held a traditional New Year's Eve parties for Russian-speaking children in Singapore.

What is the traditional Russian New Year's Eve party for children? This is a real interactive fairy tale where our guests, children and their parents, took an active part.
Together with Grandpa Frozen, his granddaughter Snegurochka, Lady Winter, funny Bunny and Petrushka, the children danced around a beautiful Christmas Tree, played games, and tried their best to save the Christmas tree from which the evil Baba Yaga stole the lights.

With great pleasure, the children recited rhymes and sang a songs, and at the end, all participants received presents and delicious ice cream.

Singing Piglet. Family story in Russian Theatre.

All stage decorations and artwork were craftily designed by Anastasia Kulikova and Tamara Zinchik, who made almost the entire set of theatrical inventory using recycled materials. The music script and the accompanying songs were written by Andrei Cherkashin. The lights and sound assistance during the show was provided by Kirill Barsukov, Natalia Ayubova, Sergey Apalkov, Pavel Karapetyan.

The whole process looked as if a magical puzzle was coming together, despite all the challenges presented by the ongoing social distancing and entertainment restrictions. The event became not only the long-awaited opportunity for the Russian speaking communities of Singapore to reconnect with their cultural routes, but also for children to attend a rarely seen play staged specifically for kids. It is also important to note that the whole project was fully self-financed without any external help or donations. All the actors, production and support teams have participated in it as charity without pay. A HUGE THANK YOU to all who expressed their support to this initiative by volunteering to help during almost a year-long preparation phase and those who came to one of the three performances to watch the play. We hope to bring “Singing piglet” to the stage again in the near future!

Singing Piglet. Family story in Russian Theatre!

One of the first full scale drama performance has finally became a reality in Singapore after a long COVID-induced break. Lead by the highly acclaimed The Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute-trained director Anna Obukhova, a group of talented actors Sasha Sorokovikova, Slava Shilin, Aram Dzhavadyan, Anna Apalkova, and Viktor Lugovkin have turned Sergei’s Kozlov’s novel “Singing piglet” into a mesmerising play on a stage!

Sergei Kozlov is best known in Russia for his philosophical, wisdom-filled novels and short stories for children. Many of which have been turned into cartoons too. This time, the troupe has transformed the Black Box Drama Studio’s at the National Library of Singapore into the imaginative world where kids of all ages learn that hope, trust and compassion can turn even a wolf into hare’s best friend, help people regain humility and where miracles become real possibilities!
