It is ! With each sunrise over this festive period, 6-year old Ah Min is hopeful. Not for ang pows, but hopeful for her future. As she visits her Aunties and Uncles, bringing them well-wishes, she gets curious about their jobs. Travel agency boss, owner of a Chinese medical hall, housewife, radio DJ. What would Ah Min be when she grows up?

With the props rented from By My Old School and those belonging to St. Joseph’s Home, we follow a hardworking secretary in 1970s Singapore having a dress tailor-made for a special celebration. Not willing to pay such a steep price for it, she leaves with her friend to find a new tailor only to find a mysterious package on the floor. What’s inside? And what will she and her friend do about it? Someone comes along to claim the package. Should they trust him?

We set up our very own bicycle and carpentry merchants in St. Joseph’s Home with the tools rented from By My Old School. We witnessed the mean business of unhappy neighbours fighting for customers and bad-mouthing each other. Thankfully, our seniors were able to restore peace between the shopkeepers again. Just what jobs will we be exploring with our seniors next week? Stay tuned!

, check. Pilots, check. -stewardess, check. Passengers, check. In our last session, our seniors boarded St Joseph’s Home to Malaysia, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Japan and the US. The flight was far from smooth-flying. Nervous flyers, passengers making trouble; turbulence and a plane which ran low on fuel! But our seniors’ sense of adventure saved the day!

We continued from our previous session with our seniors and student volunteers bringing in the (and ) to St. Joseph’s Home. We relived the crowds, the songs, the dances and the games. But what will they do about a 10-year old girl who has no money to play the games? Will they let her play for free? And how will the policewoman, stall owners and her parents react when she is caught pickpocketing? Borrowing from Cliff Richard’s song title, “WE SAY YEAH” to this session!

🎶The young ones~ Darling, we’re the young ones~ 🎶 Our last session saw our seniors dressing to their nines to visit one of the three theme parks in , Great World! What did they use to dress up? How will they get to Great World? What adventures await our musicians, ladies and gentlemen at ? Stay tuned for the next session!

Red Lion, Green Spot, condensed milk tin cans, take-away Tingkats and… demanding the for protection money! What will the customers do when trouble strikes? What will the hawkers say? And how will the policemen intervene? In role as the hawkers, customers and policemen, our seniors at told our very own Kopitiam gangster tale in .

Home alone! 10 year old Mei Li is left alone at home with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters while their mother goes to the market. What will they be up to? And what will they do when the baby cries? During our first session, the seniors of reminisced about their , sharing with us about their childhood games and the household items of the past. @ St Joseph Home

Kindly supported by WeCare Arts Fund, we begin yet another round of reminiscence drama sessions with seniors and the staff of St. Joseph's Home. Titled , we'll tell stories together with the seniors, inspired by the props, pictures and stories of the past. Watch this space!
