🌾Scene XIII, Desa Vana.
A village of the imagination — where Madras checks meet Balinese ceremony, where silk is dip-dyed by hand into the colours of a full moon rising over water.
🌾Look closely and the story is in the gradients. A bandhani pink bleeds into red the way dusk settles over a courtyard. A mustard silk fades into near-black, the way a dye bath remembers how long a hand held it there. Nothing here is printed — it’s coaxed, layered, controlled by touch.
🌾The silhouettes never sit still either. Dhoti drapes, sarong wraps, a caftan with the ease of a robe, trousers that balloon and release at the ankle — every piece is gathered for movement, not fitted for stillness. Marigold trims nod to threshold rituals back home; woven straw and ceremonial headpieces borrow from Bali’s own language of offering. Two cultures, one gesture — the body adorned, not constrained.
🌾Purnama means full moon. Desa Vana means a village in the forest. Together, they’re a place that exists somewhere between memory and myth — and today, across ten frames, you’re invited in.
