We have the chance to turn the pages over…

After a 2-year hiatus, ITE Vocal Xchange returns to the stage. An uplifting concert to celebrate the passion and musical talent of ITE students, 100 ITE vocalists and musicians from 7 groups across all 3 ITE Colleges will take to the stage at the Tay Eng Soon Convention Centre. Vocal Xchange is the culmination of a rigorous 4-month incubation process, where students are encouraged to learn how to be thinking performers and express their creativity.

With direction by Zaini Tahir and musical direction by Julian Wong, ITE vocalists and musicians explore the theme “Emerging from the Embers” – rising against the odds. Each group will put their unique stamp on songs that are personal and empowering to them. Audiences will be enthralled by the variety: from an acoustic rendition of disco hit I Will Survive to the rock beats of Could Have Been Me by The Struts, from a choral interpretation of Starship’s rock-and-roll anthem We Built This City to the R&B stylings of Little Mix, from an a ca****la take on TWICE’s The Feels to songs from classic film musicals like The Greatest Showman and Happy Feet 2.

Tickets go on sale on 18 Nov! :)

https://youtu.be/uDLss51DrBU 2021 has been yet another year of cancelled plans, non-stop changes and unexpected challenges.
We have once again walked the tightrope and kept our balance, so as to keep our students’ learning going – and are glad to see that circumstances have strengthened resilience in them.

ITE Centre for Music and The Arts (CeMTA) was not able to have its usual big, explosive Arts platforms to impress and showcase student talent this year. To give our students an avenue of expression – this year, working within safe distancing guidelines and restrictions, we have created a special platform for ITE Original Singer-Songwriters. To value-add to the students’ learning, we have partnered ITE College Central’s Student Care Dept to include mental wellness workshops as part of the program.

The students have submitted their original compositions, and 9 of the best were selected (out of more than 50 submissions) for a 2-month long song writing program with professionals from the Arts industry to fine-tune their works.

This will culminate in a showcase on 20 Nov, Sat at 8pm. ITE Centre for Music and the Arts will be premiering a pre-recorded YouTube showcase of 9 Original songs written and performed by ITE students and alumni. This showcase is part of ITE’s upcoming 30th Anniversary Celebrations.
