Desert Wine's Comfort Theatre Series

𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 was especially created for the Singapore Bicentennial celebrations of 2019, and premiered live on March 30th 2019 at the old Bukit Timah Railways’ Truss Bridge. This site-specific play has been made into this digital format with the kind support of the National Arts Council.

𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 spans from 1903 to 2020, with stories of 5 people whose lives have intertwined at various points, with our railway system. From an early immigrant, to a grandfather working for the railways, to new technological advances, these 5 stories will take you on an adventure across 115 years, following Singapore’s historical railway system and its impact on our people. ​ ​ ​

Written, Produced and Directed by Sharmila Melissa Yogalingam. Starring Sandeep Singh, Bipin Balakrishnan, Ahamed Ali Khan, Pramila Krishnasamy, and Aiswarya Nair.

In conjunction with the Singapore Bicentennial celebrations, we proudly present the site-specific, double-bill, theatrical production BEACH BURDEN BLISS, on Nov 16th, at Punggol Beach. Timings are 6/7/8/9pm.

The 2 original plays that will be presented are: BURDEN which is a real life story about a survivor of World War II's Sook Ching massacre, and BLISS which is a humorous story inspired by real life that showcases a family dinner that goes awry.

In September we are doing a series of pivate performances for the senior citizens in nursing homes. I love bringing theatre to those who aren't regular theatre goers.
