More than just a choir, the Singapore Symphony Chorus (SSC) is a warm and vibrant community for lifelong social connections beyond the stage. Seasoned performers at the Victoria Concert Hall and the Esplanade, the chorus’s committed group of singers come together week after week to hone their artistry and volunteer their time to deliver some of the most challenging choral classics to the highest standards.

Debuts, premieres, first appearances. These momentous occasions always ever only occur once.

On 21 October 2022, SSO Music Director makes his debut with the Singapore Symphony Chorus and Youth Choir, at the Victoria Concert Hall, performing BRAHMS Nänie and BEETHOVEN Elegischer Gesang

As it turns out, the only other time Nänie was performed was in 1997, and remarkably, with SSO Conductor Laureate Lan Shui in his maiden outing with the Singapore Symphony Chorus.
