Encaged Utopia: Paradise, lost it dream

Encaged Utopia is a series of assemblages and sculptures that investigate the fragile psychological landscapes of belief, memory, and the restless pursuit of utopian freedom. Using found objects such as scissors, mirrors, birdcages, Good Morning towels, cupboards, cloud forms, and hammers, the works stage encounters between the mundane and the symbolic, between cultural mise en scène and utopian yearning.
A translucent aesthetic runs through the series: semi translucent tablecloths and other veiled surfaces both reveal and obscure, opening a dreamlike space of imagination. This shifting visibility suggests how utopian visions are always partially hidden, distorted, or deferred.
Collectively reconfiguring these everyday relics into fragile constellations, Encaged Utopia reflects on the paradox of utopia: at once aspiration and impossibility, eternally encaged yet perpetually dreamt.
