Apart Singapore

Apart Singapore [ Together apART ] While we need to keep a safe distance from one another, our art will bring us together.

Here, we tell our stories and share our work across the Arts in Singapore.

To our dear friends in the arts community and supporters of apART.sg:
It has been about a year since we all went into nationwide lockdown (7 April 2020). The “circuit breaker” short-circuited the spread of the virus, but with it the economy, our livelihoods, and the community. Our arts community was one of the hardest hit, and recovery efforts are still ongoing.
It was at this same time that apART.sg was launched, with the intention of supporting the arts community in a time of need. Our goals were twofold: firstly, to consolidate and promote digital performances/ events for the arts through our Featured and Livestream pages, and secondly, to stimulate and facilitate conversations on the impact of digitalisation within the arts through our interviews and posts on our Blog.
apART.sg has undergone many transformations since then as we learnt how to best serve the arts community while retaining our core focus. We are grateful for being able to serve in whatever small ways we can.
It is with a heavy heart that we would like to announce the closure of apART.sg, for now. Our one-year lease is up as the domain which we have paid for expires. The small team of us – at first, somewhat strangers – have been volunteering our time amidst other full-time commitments for the past year, bound by our shared mission of supporting the arts through apART.sg. In the true spirit of apART.sg, our team has telecommunicated and worked entirely virtually. We are grateful for how far apART.sg has come, and for the huge amount of support we’ve received over the past year. It is time for us to take a break.
All is not lost. We will be archiving apART.sg and all the content that has ever been published, although the content may not be publicly accessible until the paid domain is renewed. We recognise that there are valuable resources on apART.sg and because it is a digital space, it is fortunately easier to preserve them.
We thank you once again for all the love and support for apART.sg. The fight to preserve and transform the arts continues. Should you wish to reach out to us, do message us on our Facebook / Instagram pages (.sg)!
