Our brand new show 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴《被雨淋湿的那一天》is coming to Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre this May! ⁣

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴《被雨淋湿的那一天》revisits the way of life during kampong days and Singapore’s initiatives to improve and modernise public housing. ⁣

Ah Seng was born and raised in Kampung Potong Pasir in the late 1950s. Kampong Potong Pasir was often susceptible to flooding during heavy storms and the villagers would scramble and help each other out. Even though life was hard in the Kampung, Ah Seng loved his kampong and the strong communal spirit. With Singapore’s new public housing initiative, Ah Seng’s father received an official notice to resettle the residents of Kampong Potong Pasir into the modern HDBs. Despite Ah Seng’s reluctance to leave, his family eventually relented when a massive flood hit the neighbourhood and destroyed his beloved home. What happened to Ah Seng and his family? Will Ah Seng be able to leave his Kampung behind? ⁣

[REVIEW] [THEATRE] [★★★★☆ The Monster In The Mirror by Bitesize Theatre Productions] “this is nonetheless an impressive transition from film to stage, with a diverse showing of music genres and styles that prove the cast and creatives’ versatility. This is a show that takes the right cues from popular productions from abroad, and makes it their own, and ultimately, succeeds at delivering a relatable message of learning to take the time to love one’s self, monsters and all.”
