🎶 FEATURED WORK — JOGET JIG

Looking back at one of the works featured at the Noctavé Composers Festival 2026: Straits and Stripes — Joget Jig by Colton Colyer.

Blending the lively rhythms of the Malay joget with the spirited character of the Irish jig, the piece brings together musical influences from across cultures, with American musical elements adding another layer to its sound.

Written for violin, piano and rebana, Joget Jig captured the playful, energetic spirit of the festival and its celebration of music across borders.

We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to share Colton’s work with our audience and to celebrate the many ways composers can connect different musical traditions through new music.

🎬✨ A special message all the way from Limerick, Ireland — straight to you, Singapore! 🇮🇪🇸🇬

We’re beyond honored to share this heartfelt video from world-renowned composer Patrick Cassidy, celebrated for his sweeping, cinematic scores that have graced blockbuster films and unforgettable soundtracks around the globe. As we prepare to kick off our very first festival, Patrick took a moment by the River Shannon to send us his warmest wishes — and while he couldn’t be with us in person this time, he’s already hoping our paths will cross in Singapore very soon. 🌉🎶

There’s something incredibly special about knowing that composers of this caliber are cheering us on as we build something new. This inaugural festival is just the beginning, and messages like this remind us why we’re so excited for what’s ahead.

Thank you, Patrick, for the kindness, the support, and the beautiful words. We’re holding you to that promise — see you soon! 🙌💛

An important update on our journey!

As Noctavé continues to grow, we want to take a moment to share what is happening behind the scenes. To build a strong foundation for the future, we will be taking a brief pause on our reading sessions until 15 September.

During this break, our team is hard at work formalising our operations, officially setting up as a new company, and preparing for our highly anticipated inaugural concert. It is an exciting new chapter for us, and we are laying the groundwork to bring you even more incredible musical experiences. Please note that while reading sessions are paused during this transition, you are still more than welcome to keep sending us your scores in the meantime, as we are eager to continue discovering new music.

For those who have been asking how to support our independent artists and upcoming projects during this transitional phase, we have set up a little corner via the QR code (Swipe left) if you would like to contribute to our journey. All of our energy is currently focused on getting our company established and building toward our upcoming concert, and we cannot thank you enough for your continued support, patience, and enthusiasm as we embark on this journey. We truly cannot wait to share what comes next with all of you!
