A wonderful time for the full cast and musicians to rehearse together as we prepare for the Singapore premiere of “Of Living & Dying”. Bringing the different artistic elements into one space allows the production to continue taking shape as we move closer to the performance.

Led by Dr Danny Tan and Mr Fajar Satriadi, the production brings together dance and live music with musicians from Singapore and Indonesia. Every rehearsal strengthens the connection between movement, sound and performance while deepening the collaborative spirit behind this multidisciplinary work.

Only two more days to go. We look forward to welcoming audiences to the University Cultural Centre Theatre on 25 August 2026 for this special Singapore premiere.

The countdown has begun for the Singapore premiere of “Of Living & Dying” on 25 August 2026 at the University Cultural Centre Theatre. With limited tickets remaining and an almost full house, we are deeply grateful for the encouraging response as we prepare to welcome audiences to this special evening.

The production features an acclaimed duet by veteran artists Dr Danny Tan from Singapore and Mr Fajar Satriadi from Indonesia, accompanied by the ODT Music Ensemble’s nine musicians from both Singapore and Indonesia. Bringing together contemporary dance, live music and immersive visual landscapes, the work explores memory, impermanence and humanity through a poetic journey across time and space.

A sunny day on the greens brought together friendship, camaraderie and a shared passion for golf. We thank our Board member, Mr Looi Chee Bin, for organising this enjoyable warm up session as we prepare for ODT Charity Golf 2026.

It is always a blessing to watch our ODT Silver Ensemble perform with such grace and dedication. Led by Madam Ng Siew Moy, we are grateful for her continued commitment to bringing joy to these wonderful ladies through dance.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Kang Ha Clan Association for the kind hosting and the opportunity for our Silver Ensemble to share their passion with the community. Moments like these remind us of the meaningful connections that the arts can create across generations.

It was also a pleasure to meet Mr Ng Shi Xuan, Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC, at the gathering. We look forward to continuing to create meaningful opportunities for our Silver Ensemble to celebrate life, friendship and community through the arts.

Our journey with “Of Living & Dying” in Indonesia created many memorable moments. Time spent with the artists during rehearsals, performances and meals allowed friendships and trust to grow.

The creative process brought moments of surprise and excitement as we explored new ideas together. Each rehearsal strengthened the collaboration and contributed to the development of the work.

The most memorable part was seeing people come together. From artists working in the studio to large public gatherings at the festival, this journey showed how the arts can build relationships, strengthen communities and connect people.

Our showcase and dialogue in Solo reminded us of the power of community. The gathering brought artists, audiences, families and young people together through a shared experience of dance and music.

Each gathering creates space for human connection, solidarity and meaningful bonds. The direct interaction allowed people of different ages and backgrounds to exchange perspectives and connect with the work.

We thank Solo International Performing Arts for believing in us and providing a platform for this exchange. We also thank everyone who joined us and became part of the journey of “Of Living & Dying”.

📣 𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗨𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 | “𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 & 𝗗𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚” 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗢

With a bare stage, original music and a short dance excerpt, “Of Living & Dying” invited the audience into a close encounter with the work. We thank the artists who have journeyed with us and made this direct form of sharing possible.

The dialogue opened conversations about human connection, the inspiration behind the work and its central themes. A simple self-care exercise of rubbing our hands together and feeling the warmth of our palms encouraged everyone to become more aware of their own bodies and presence.

A 74-year-old veteran dance practitioner shared that the work inspired him to reflect on his body and renewed his sense of energy. Others spoke about how deeply the dance moved them. These exchanges reminded us that art needs no embellishment to connect. It begins with honest experiences and our shared humanity.

Our showcase and dialogue in Solo offered a close sharing of the creative process behind “Of Living & Dying”. It marked the final stage of the work’s development before its Singapore premiere.

The presentation introduced new music and placed the artists close to the audience. This setting allowed us to express the work directly and created an immediate connection between the performance and those watching.

We thank Solo International Performing Arts for hosting us in this welcoming space. The audience responded strongly to the work, and we carry their encouragement with us as we prepare for Singapore.

📣 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | “𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗚” 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗢

We thank our international collaborators for contributing their time and effort to the development of our new creation, “Once Young”. This research trip in Solo marks an important stage in shaping the work.

“Once Young” is commissioned for its world premiere by the International Mask Festival 2026 in Solo, with support from the National Arts Council Singapore. The project continues our commitment to collaboration between Singaporean and Indonesian artists.

We will share more about the research and creative process over the next three months as we work towards the world premiere. We thank our collaborators and partners for supporting this journey.
