𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥:
When we talk about mental growth of a kid’s development, it is mainly about cultivating creativity, developing cognitive skills and improving their reading and listening abilities.
Creativity is one of the top most important qualities of leadership competency according to a IBM poll done on 15,000 CEOs. To be able to think outside of the box is one of the brightest ways to stand out amongst others and differentiate yourself.
The core skills of our brain are to read, learn, think, reason, remember and pay attention and these are known as the cognitive skills. Learning music will enable your child to develop their cognitive skills much better than compared to other kids who did not pick up music. This will also improve their reading and listening abilities too!
𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥:
As your child starts aging, there’s always a possibility that they keep to themselves more and might stop expressing their emotions. Picking up music will encourage your kids to keep developing their emotional expressions.
Growing up, there will be lots of homework, tuition and exams. Playing music is a way to reduce stress and anxiety and teach the kids to cope with their emotions. Participating in performances for their family and friends will also give them a sense of achievement and boost their morale.
𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥:
Learning a wind instrument requires the use of air, strengthens the lung muscles and together, this helps to develop the cardiovascular and respiratory pathways of the young child.
Research has shown that basic motor skills are usually developed in kids aging from 6-12 through a number of activities such as playing sports and learning a music instrument. Younger children that have exposure in these activities are shown to be better at self-care, mobility, hand-eye coordination, grasping strength, tool usage and in-hand manipulation compared to those that did not pick up music.⠀
𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥:
One aspect of learning music is instilling patience, discipline and focus which are some of the most important qualities in life as they grow up. Having their friends see what they had achieved in playing the melodica helps boost their self-esteem too!
