Resilience

At our art classes, we don’t just do art. We also teach our students the concept of resilience. The recent Olympic saga is one of this teachable moment.

Disappointment, suffering and sadness is part of living. Just like there will be moments of joy and happiness in life. There are bound to be moments suffering and sadness in life.

Humans are wired to focus on threats and the negatives. This is part of the evolutionary process; how our ancestors were able to get away from danger. But in times of sadness, we need to overcome this urge and focus on the positive. Think of Rio 2016, the pride and joy we felt when JS won our first gold medal.

We need to ask ourselves will our action help or harm the cause? Will throwing negative comments help or harm our athletes, and future athletes? You have the power to choose.

Let’s show our support to Joseph schooling and the athletes in teamSG in both good times and bad!

[new class opening]

We will be opening a new soft pastel class - Fun with Soft Pastel. This is a simple sensory art that is suitable for all ages.

Our teacher has designed 10 basic art pieces for children (6 to 12 years old) to develop their interest and joy of painting, enhance their motor skills and also boost their confidence to be creative!

In these 10-sessions, children will be taught how to produce D-I-Y stencils.

Children below 6 will need parent supervision. Adults and elderly are also welcome to join.

Items required are as shown below:
- Soft Pastel
- Basic Stencil
- Art Eraser (Soft Kneaded Eraser)
- Pencil Eraser
- Pen Eraser
- 15x15cm 165 gsm paper
- Recycle paper and scissor
- Masking tape (optional)
- Fixative Spray (optional)
- Charcoal pencil (optional)

No experience is required. Suitable for 1st timer.

Closing date for registration is on 13 September 2020.

^There will be recordings. Even if you miss the class you can still watch the lesson at your own time.

Bookings will be considered as confirmed only after receiving the payment via credit card, bank transfer or receiving cash payment instruction via email or whatsapp.
