Celebrating the January birthstone ✨

A throwback to last year’s wedding of the beautiful , where she wore a bespoke diamond necklace designed and crafted by .privatejeweller x .stones featuring a deep red garnet at its centre.
Chosen for its rich hue and symbolism, the garnet added a personal layer to a classic diamond design. A timeless piece to mark a meaningful moment.

Say hello to the January birthstone: The Garnet.
Garnet is not a single gemstone but a family of closely related minerals.
The rich red hues most commonly associated with garnet range from purplish red to deep wine tones, typically found in almandine–pyrope garnets.
These stones are valued for their depth of colour, good durability, and natural brilliance.
Gemmologically, garnet’s appeal lies in its wide colour range across the family and its long history of use in jewellery, making it a gemstone that feels both timeless and enduring!

Some stones have a character of their own. This 5.27ct sapphire is one of them. With soft shifts of violet, blue, and silver, it didn’t need much, just a setting that let the colour speak.

Sapphires show pleochroism, meaning they can reveal different shades when viewed from different angles. It takes a skilled gem cutter to bring out the most beautiful way to reveal the colours based on the crystal orientation.

The making of this 3.97ct pink spinel ring, in two-toned 18k gold!

Spinel rarely benefits from any heat treatments; what you see here is the stone’s natural colour and lustre, preserved exactly as found ✨

Soft colour, strong presence ✨

We picked up this radiant-cut sapphire lot on our last sourcing trip to Sri Lanka, a dreamy mix of unheated pastel tones.

For this bespoke project, three blue hues were chosen and set into a classic trilogy ring. Each stone is slightly different, but together they sit in beautiful harmony.

Pastel gems like these feel fresh and contemporary, and they’re effortless to wear whether you’re dressing up or keeping it casual.

Vanadium chrysoberyl is a rare and lesser-known variety of chrysoberyl, reputed for its pure mint to greenish hues, soft luminosity and exceptional clarity.
The colour comes naturally from vanadium trace elements in the crystal. No treatments, no enhancements. Just a clean, honest stone with a soft glow that’s hard to look away from.

When we think of blue gemstones, most people picture sapphire first.
But for those who truly love blue, deep, vivid and full of light, blue spinel is an exceptional option!
While sapphires are often heated to enhance their colour, fine blue spinel is almost always unheated. Its colour is completely natural and due to trace elements like cobalt and iron in the crystal structure.
And it’s not just about colour. Spinel has a very high refractive index, which means it reflects light beautifully!
That brilliance gives it a lovely, sparkly appearance that is rare in darker toned gems.

More and more couples are choosing coloured gemstones to mark their love, and we love that.
A rare gem feels personal, meaningful, and completely one of a kind…just like each love story.
This engagement ring was made around a 1.96ct Imperial Topaz, one of their birthstones and such a beautiful choice.
Set in 18K yellow gold with a soft vintage vibe diamond halo, it’s a piece that reflects them - rare, authentic and entirely theirs.

There is something about this hue of blue: Deep and lively! 💙
Designed as a custom piece for a client, this 4.48 ct cushion-cut spinel shines even brighter against brushed Italian yellow gold — a vintage finish that brings out the stone’s natural fire.

A recent bespoke creation 💎
This 5.27 ct pastel radiant cut sapphire was love at first sight. It stood out with its rare mix of violet, blue, and silvery tones that shifts beautifully in different light.
We designed a sleek setting with a not-so-hidden halo of baguette diamonds beneath the gem - a subtle layer of sparkle that complements without stealing the show. ✨
Stay tuned, the making of this gorgeous piece coming soon!
