🔄 THE STORY BEHIND THE COLLABORATION

Sometimes music has a funny way of coming full circle💙

Years ago, our dear friend and collaborator Barney Ashton-Bullock approached us on behalf of Cherry Red Records and asked if SoftWave would remix “Love Is Everywhere” by Scottish synthpop artist Cicero.

The song had originally been co-produced by Pet Shop Boys, who signed Cicero to their Spaghetti Recordings label in the early ’90s, so naturally, we were VERY excited to be asked!

Our remix was later released on the expanded edition of Cicero’s Future Boy.

Fast forward to 2026…

This time, we asked Cicero to remix SoftWave.

And luckily, he loved "Wake Up":

“When I first listened to the track, I loved the production and vocals already. I didn’t want to change it up too much, but I did want to give it the pumping Cicero vibe 🤭.”

And then he said something that pretty much sums up this whole collaboration:

“SoftWave did such a great mix with my track ‘Love Is Everywhere’ and I wanted to pay it back.”

SoftWave remixed Cicero.
Now Cicero remixes SoftWave.
The story has come full circle.

A huge thank you to Barney for bringing our musical worlds together in the first place! None of this would have happened without you. ❤️

🎹 MEET THE REMIXER #2 – CICERO 🇬🇧

Next up in our things we’ve remixed journey is Scottish electronic artist Cicero.

Emerging from the UK electronic pop scene in the early ’90s, Cicero was signed to Pet Shop Boys’ Spaghetti Recordings – becoming part of an era of British synthpop that has been a huge inspiration to us.

Our paths eventually crossed when SoftWave was invited to remix Cicero’s “Love Is Everywhere” for the expanded edition of Future Boy.

And now the roles have been reversed… 💙

Cicero has remixed SoftWave!

🇬🇷 Greetings from Athens!

Could the timing be any better? 😍

We're in Greece just TWO DAYS before the release of Supernova (ASPRA Remix) - our collaboration with Greek artist ASPRA, the solo project of Sophia (Marsheaux)💜

Personal bonus info from Catrine (SoftWave):
Greece has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. With Greek family here, I've visited Greece every year of my life – 38 years of Greece, and today it feels like 38°C 😆🇬🇷🔥

It has always felt like a second home to me, which makes releasing this remix with ASPRA even more special.

So right now we're not only hearing the Greek influence... we're actually here feeling it all around us 💙

After exploring Athens in the heat, some absolutely delicious Greek food near Monastiraki came to the rescue. 😋

And now... only TWO DAYS TO GO!
