BIO
Of Brazilian/Italian descent, actress & performer Lesley has lived and worked creatively in Brazil, Italy, Norway, the Czech Republic, Canada, and now resides in Sweden where she is currently a member of theatre collective Orizon.art.
Lesley has played a wide role of physical and immersive and theatre roles including in Italy, the main character in ‘La Donna e i Suoi Riflessi,’ which was nominated for the 2nd ‘Femminile Riflessi’ award, promoted by Università del Sacro Cuore and IED – Instituto Europeo di Design in 2010.
She portrayed Lucia in ‘Pier Blue - De un Inferno a Outro,’ which won best short film and best sequence at the ‘Mostra Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana’ in 2006.
Lesley starred as Norma Cossetto in ‘La Nave del Ritorno’ (The Ship's Return), a historical play based on testimonials of the Foibe genocide. The show, staged by Teatro dell’Aleph and directed by Giovanni Moleri, captivated audiences with its intense and sometimes chilling portrayal of the Istrians' tragedy. The play toured Italy for two years (2009-2011), performing in more than 30 cities. She also played a main character in “Avvakum” and “Mirandolinæ,” which were featured at several important festivals in Italy.
In Canada, Lesley portrayed Mary in ‘The Bald Soprano,’ with Raise The Stakes, one of the first bilingual plays presented in Montreal. She was a member of the ‘Comité Théâtre et Diversité Culturelle’ (CQT) for 2015/2016 and Adjudicator for Acting Hnatyshyn Foundation. In Sweden, she was cast in ‘Pirandello Narrated by His Women,’ ‘The Boor,’ and the TV series ‘La Tormenta Sueca.’ For collectivetheatre group Orizon.art, she performed in ‘In.Mem’.
Lesley’s academic research project “The Gaucho’s Ethnic Movement Techniques and Its Relation to the Actor-Dancer’s Performance,” under the guidance of PhD Ines Marocco won the Highlighted Award at the Theater Session and VIII Scientific Fair UFRGS 2006. It was presented at various symposiums and congresses, including ABRACE.
