Urban Naturalistic Installations

Urban Naturalistic Installations Urban Naturalistic Installations (UNI) is an environmental, integration and sustainable education project in Lund during 2017 https://www.facebook.com/UNILund

Urban Naturalistic Installations (UNI) is an environmental, integration and sustainable education project in Lund initiated by non-profit organisation ABC - Active contributions for people and the environment. The project is possible thanks to support from City of Lund's Environmental Grant. During 2017, UNI will engage people of Lund in creating three "natural installations" in central places of

the city. These installations aim to increase biodiversity and create open meeting places and educational platforms right in the heart of Lund. We will start with a design drawing of the future installations in February and cultivation of a wide variety of herbs, spices, flowers, vegetables and berries and design the installations in March. Followed by building the foundations of the installations in April. Then, during Lund's Sustainability Week in May, we will actually install and fill the installations with plants. We hope to see people of all ages and backgrounds in Lund participate in this creative process! The UNI project is a follow-up project of the Naturalistic Art (NA) project done during 2016`s . NA was a cultural, integration and environmental sustainability project in Lund organised by the Team of Greenhouse Educational Ecosystem (GEE) poject, part of ABC Swedish non-governmental organisation. NA focused on teaching practical know-how how to create conceptual artworks from natural materials for bringing aesthetic pleasure and raising awareness for the participants and the society about environmental and social sustainability. The artworks were art installations in public spaces or specially designed products from minerals, seeds and plants, tree barks and cones, dried fruits, feathers, etc. The created artworks were for public benefit, gifted, exchanged or shared for donation, and the money raised were used for supporting the development of the Greenhouse Educational Ecosystem (GEE) project and ABC and HU organisations work. The project is initiated by the Swedish non-profit organisation ABC - Active contributions for people and the environment and made possible thanks to the financial support from City of Lund's Environmental Grant. The project is also supported by the Bulgarian non-profit organisation Naturalistichno::

Dear friends, we successfully transported out the Green Growing Globe II Installation from Domkyrkoplatsen. Now the project is at its end, what is left is to evaluate the installations and spread out the results. We would also sell and use for other projects the plants that were growing at the Globe and you are welcome to get one or more. And we are making a short film showing how everything shaped up.
Follow our story to see what had happened for the past half an year of nature connection, sustainability education and uniting of people.

On the 22nd and the 25th of September we were very glad to host two events presenting the work of our visiting friend from Bulgaria, the holistic healer Doncho Gospodinov Krastev.

Doncho introduced his authors methodology The Dance of The Spiral - Infinity Yoga and made a workshop showing how it is connected with gardening and plants growing that can benefit the well-being of the society.

The Dance of the Spiral - Infinity Yoga is a system of health, longevity, self-knowledge and knowledge of the world. In it the healer incorporates his 27 years of experience in studying Eastern martial arts, Eastern and Western philosophy, and further develops their theoretical and practical concepts.

With this methodology it is possible to create energy healing gardens that can bring benefits for the people and environment. They are scientifically tested and with proven efficiency of impact – harmonizing, energizing, purifying, recharging and healing effect. Doncho has spent years in researching the energetics of over 170 plants, and in setting up of his new methodology in conformity with the new Earth’s energies. All this has been thoroughly described in his book “The dance of the spiral”.

On Sunday the 3rd of September we had the grand opening and planting of the third installation from the project Urban Naturalistic Installations (UNI) - The GGG II Installation. And it was amazing! A big thank you to everyone that make this happen and is UNIting with the Earth flow and people! We take care and share around!

GGG II Installation:
The Green Growing Globe II Installation is using the structure of the Growroom designed by Studio Space10.
It is an Earth-shaped ecosystem smart garden which supports the ecological cultivation of different species of edible herbs, spices and greens. The plants are automatically watered by electronic irrigation system run on renewable energy from a solar panel. The solar energy can also power bike and usb chargers. There are also weather sensors comparing the humidity and temperature inside and outside the globe. The GGG II will be temporary installation on Domkyrkoplatsen during September 2017. A big thank you to Lunds Domkyrkoförsamling for providing us with this exhibition place and for our collaboration!

More information about the project:
During 2017, ABC's UNI Project engages people of Lund to create three “natural installations” in central places of the city. These installations aim to increase biodiversity and create open meeting places and educational platforms right in the heart of Lund. The project also aims to promote sustainability awareness and sustainable use of public spaces, provide healthy products for the well being of Lund’s residents as well as food and habitats for the pollinators – bees, bumblebees, butterflies, moths, etc.

Also we want to mention that this project would not have been possible to execute if it wasn’t for our common meeting ground and workspace at Stenkrossen, Lunds Municipality’s cultural center. A big thank you for the support and opportunities to continuously developing new and creative projects! For more information see:

Earth's physical reality manifests in the shapes of special geometry.
In the Urban Naturalistic Installations Project (UNI) garden design we are making special gardens with natural shapes.

During Midsummer we have made The Seed of Life Mandala Garden UNI at the front yard of Stenkrossen house of culture in Lund.
It is planted with 21 species of edible medicinal and melliferous plants - herbs and spices.

Creating a mandala is amazing! You should do it, we should do more!
