Architecture becomes a landscape

This conceptual culture center rises from the sand like a sculpted memory of wind, stone, and movement, a fluid organic form shaped by the desert, grounded in Najdi heritage, and refined through modern industrial architecture. Curved rammed-earth walls, pale limestone, bronze screens, recessed glass, and sweeping rooflines create a dialogue between tradition and the future.

Inside, the journey unfolds through shaded courtyards, immersive galleries, a grand atrium, performance spaces, a research library, and quiet terraces overlooking the wadi landscape. It is more than a cultural building; it is a destination for art, architecture, learning, gathering, and desert living.

When designing The Artisans Ayutthaya,The woman restaurant.
I never wanted to reproduce the traditional Thai roof. The triangular roofs are not an imitation of the surrounding temples or houses. They belong to a different time. they share the same skyline.

the architecture responds to its rhythm. The roofs fold, rotate and gather around courtyards, creating a new roofscape that sits quietly among Ayutthaya’s existing landscape.

I never thought of the roof as the end of a building. I think of it as another landscape.

From the street, people experience courtyards, trees and shaded walkways. From above, those same spaces become a roofscape ,where each roof is not an isolated object but part of a larger composition.

Allowing the architecture to breathe while quietly joining the rhythm of Ayutthaya’s temples, houses and river.

The building is not a single form. It is a small landscape of roofs.
