The Vitali Fountain is one of the oldest fountains in Moscow, located on Theater Square. It was erected on the site of a former water reservoir by the sculptor Giovanni Vitali in 1835. The fountain’s basin rests on a pedestal supported by four Cupid-like putti, representing tragedy, comedy, poetry, and music. ⛲️

Gustave Flaubert non avrebbe potuto scrivere un libro sulla bellezza. Ma io ci proverò, e da dove cominciare? «Tutto e niente può essere bello». La Grande Bellezza si scopre lungo il cammino! ✨

Chris Oh, Plume, 2025

Chris Oh’s works will likely look familiar, since his practice involves meticulously recreating details of great paintings from the Northern Renaissance onto a range of appropriated objects. While earlier works repurposed emphatically contemporary items that contrast with Oh’s Renaissance-style brushworkβ€”such as a package hastily sealed with U.S. Homeland Security–branded tapeβ€”the artist has also worked with natural materials. In one body of work, Oh painted scenes from Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s β€œThe Series of the Months” onto wooden burl slabs, among other works on seashells and antique sculptures. Collectively, Oh’s mixed-media objects draw together historical theories of beauty, both natural and man-made. Oh received his BFA in 2004 from the School of Visual Arts. He has exhibited in solo shows at Capsule Shanghai, Sargent’s Daughters, and Fortnight Institute.

The new Cosmic Gate collection, canvases that transition into a universe of possibilities, when form emerges from the mist, the shape of the future universe. The act of creation is an act of power. The Creator, the design, and the creative word. This word is connected with thought. An act! ✨ ❀️

Contemporary art is always quite difficult to evaluate. But I hope that future generations will be able to do so well. However, the evaluation of contemporary art is still subject to the whims of fashion. The value of works is directly correlated with current trends, and then the price increases according to the artists’ fame. πŸ–ΌοΈπŸ

1970 Lancia Stratos HF Zero Concept

Standing just 33 inches (84 centimeters) off the ground (lower than Pininfarina’s already provocative Modulo), the Stratos HF Zero arrived at the 1970 Turin Motor Show as perhaps the most extreme statement in an era defined by extreme statements.

Marcello Gandini designed the Zero around a single constraint: how far could a functional car be built? The answer required positioning the two occupants almost horizontally between the front wheels, with entry achieved by pushing the steering column forward while a hydraulic mechanism simultaneously tilted the entire windshield upward to allow access.

Full-width lighting elements spanned both ends of the car, with a row of headlights integrated into the sharply angled nose and a series of small, round taillights mounted on the truncated tail.

Beneath the wedge-shaped bodywork lies a narrow-angle 1,584cc V-4 from the Lancia Fulvia HF, producing around 115 horsepower through a five-speed manual gearbox. Disc brakes appeared at all four corners.

Although it shared almost nothing visually with what came later, the Zero directly prompted Lancia’s commission to Bertone for a rally-focused sports car (a conversation that ultimately led to the production Stratos HF). The prototype was restored in the early 2000s to its original bronze livery, as seen in its Turin debut.

Art is always beautiful in any form. Albrecht DΓΌrer said: β€œIf you want to know the difference between good and evil, then study and devote yourself to art. You can avoid many troubles by not being idle.” Beautiful words. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŒ±πŸŒΏπŸŒ…β€οΈ
