From September 21st till September 25th, 2011, DANCE AS YOU ARE festival, the first project of S-VERSIA will take place in Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia) During that time, the leading world teachers and choreographers and professionals of the dance industry will visit Kazan and share their knowledge with all our guests. The participants of the project will plunge into the urban dance and m
usic culture and history for 5 days and feel the atmosphere of the best international championships along with the legends of this culture. Participants and winners of the largest world dancing events such as Juste Debout, Red Bull BC One, etc. - young artists&choreographers along with veterans, they will gather in Kazan to dance, talk, discuss, see and exchange with who ever wants to learn. Special history seminars, panel talks and lectures with special guests will take place every evening after masterclasses. Our visitors can raise their dancing level on various master classes and seminars & discussions with the very best actors of this culture! For the tempted spectators and, simply for fans of creativity of the respected visitors we organized the Dance Showcase Theatre Night – a show of the best world dancers and dancing groups! (the 55min show of RAF “City’z”,first premiered in Theatre Chaillot in Paris, France, November 2010 and solo&duo performances of Bruce Ykanji, Nelson Ewande, Laure Courtellemont&Dedson, Babson (serial Stepperz/Wanted Posse - Afro House), Soussou (Abstract), Fredericks Ngo’kii (Tapinprogress) and Legion X (Salas, Djidawi and U-Kay)
DANCE AS YOU ARE by S-verSia – it’s also an international battle 1х1 in Hip-Hop, House Dance, Popping, Experimental & also a competition of the dancing teams for the held collectives with the general prize fund of 5000 euros. Competitions will be judged by very different people, in their areas, coming from different countries and backgrounds, and all of them have a very big experience, these are:
- Bruce Ykanji (Paris, France) as our popping judge
- Marjory Smarth (NYC, USA) as our house judge
- Salas (Lille, France) - as our hip hop judge
- and Dedson (Paris, France) - as our experimental judge
Our choreographic team contest judges are: Laure Courtellemont and 2 other suprise judges, which names will be opened very soon. We really want to develop this page of the large cultural heritage in Russia and make this event affordable for anyone. Anyone should have access to knowledge, this our principal, that is why the entry price to all the happenings of this festival are really low.
