As we celebrate ๐ญ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐โ๐ ๐ฑ๐๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐, weโre sharing a glimpse into the studios of the artists whose presence has defined these five years.
Throughout this anniversary season, our artists open their doors each Friday, offering insight into their art practices - leading up to and beyond the launch of our anniversary catalogue and exhibition.
This week, we visit ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ถ, whose practice often references and uses bodyโs senses and the ritual component of everyday actions, such as washing, combing hair, (un)dressing, and taking care of the body. With leisure practices and daily rituals at its core, Cocioniโs practice is building up a scenario that allows a slower pace within domestic settings, a space beyond the men-dominated world. Therefore, by blending various materials, her practice steers clear of the unitary binary fallacies, reclaiming the resilience of female bodies in contemporary visual experiences.
