Catalin Gheorghiu, Solution Architect at EPAM Romania, is tracing the team’s move from rule-based workflows to digital twins, with AI agents driving the lifecycle of millions of items.

🟦 One dataset, three jobs: data engineering, analytics and AI. In Zsombor Fedor’s workshop, the Cloudera Solutions Engineer is guiding participants through an end-to-end pipeline built with Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg. They’re turning raw event data into an open lakehouse table and working with upserts, schema evolution and time travel.

The same data then supports analytics and AI workloads, showing how an open architecture can separate data from compute and work across cloud and on-premises environments.
