First snow of 2024 in 🤍

The clock in Union Square is one of the 10 clocks worth 35 k which were placed in the central area of the city more than a decade ago.

The clocks have a 24-carat industrial gold mechanism, the ornamental elements are blown with gold and the dial is made of crystal.

The watches have a guarantee of 100 years and work with an accuracy of +/- 4 seconds per hundred years.

Snow comes and goes but did you ever notice any of the precious watches?

Elisabeta Palace is the private residence of the Royal family of Romania. 👑

The Palace was inaugurated in 1937 for Elisabeth of Romania (2nd picture), eldest daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Mary, and former queen of Greece. The Palace was designed for her, following her failed marriege with King George of Greece. 🇬🇷

The property designed in mediteranean Style became the official residence of the Royal family during WW2 when King Michael found refuge inside this palace after the coup of 1944, and stayed here until his exile in 1947.

Today the Palace is the permanent residence of Margaret of Romania (9th picture), Custodian of the Crown and daughter of late King Michael.

The ground floor is open to visitors for limited time every year and exhibits a great variety of art and personal objects belonging to the royal family.

Both Familia Regala a Romaniei and Fundatia Regala Margareta a Romaniei have their headquarters here.

Bucharest’s hidden gardens are a perfect getaway during hot summer days 🌿

We've been exploring some of the venues which offer quiet and relaxed vibes to visitors, while keeping them in the shade behind climbing ivy or massive trees. 💚

Some of these residences belonged to important local personalities while others simply tell the story of the development of Bucharest from a rural looking town of houses to the cosmopolitan labyrinth it is today.

Would you go on a hidden gardens tour of Bucharest? 🤔

Perfect time to pick up the newly framed poster from 😍

The poster tells the story of the cheerful manner of celebrating the National day back in the days of the Kingdom of Romania. 💐

Few people know that the custom we remember as the "flowers fight" was originally a charity event. Those who wanted to be seen throwing flowers had to pay.

Over time, the popularity of the floral event became so great that it was organized every year, just for the sake of celebrating May 10 in a colorful and parfumed way. 🤩

Wisteria appreciation post 💟

May is one of the best months to visit Bucharest, the weather is warm, trees are in bloom and the city smells great. Long walks are super rewarding for nature lovers, architecture hunters and city enthusiasts.

Climbing wisteria is having its moment and it would be a pitty to miss it.

Which colour do you prefer, purple or white? 💜🤍

PS. Did you now you can tailor your guided tour with to include the blooming trees - may they be cherry blossoms, magnolia or wisteria? You need to know the season or just ask away! 🤩

Our blog went on a "too-long" break & it's time for a comeback!

What better topic to choose than presenting one of the most beautiful buildings in the City of Joy & a very special moment filmed inside during a guided tour?

Photo source One of the mandatory stops when in Bucharest, the Romanian Athenaeum, has been on the bucket list of travelers for more than a century, and for a good reason: it's one of the most spectacular buildings in the city, inside and out. Is it a Theatre? Is it an Opera house? What is it exactl...

The ferris wheel is definitely the highlight of this year's Christmas market. 🎡

Swipe to see the view from the top, on a cloudy day. 🤩

Almost 40m high, the ferris wheel is standing right in front of the largest administrative building in Europe, the Romanian Parliament, offering an eagle eye view of Union Boulevard - initially known as the Boulevard of Socialist Victory. 😬

Since December is also the month when locals commemorate the fall of communism in Romania, having this new attraction in place gives the former communist "gem" a cheerful capitalist twist.

Did you visit the Bucharest Christmas fair organized by the City Hall - ARCUB - this year? 🎅

The pen drawing representing the royal crown and scepter of Romania is one of the hidden gems of "Theodor Aman" Museum.👑

The drawing shows the steel crown used for Carol the 1st crowning as first King of Romania and then for King Ferdinand's crowning as King of Greater Romania.

For a very short time, only until March next year, it can be admired in a temporary exhibition inside Theodor Aman's House - now a museum dedicated to his life and art.

Today Romania is celebrating the national day by the Arch of Triumph, a symbol of the Great Union. Knowing a country's history and symbols is like knowing its childhood and most beloved toys. 💙💛❤️

May your existence bring fulfilment to your land and people, dear Romania! 🇷🇴
