We are very happy to announce that , jewelry designer and teacher from Brussels, Belgium and long-time exhibitor of , will hold a dedicated workshop at .school right after ROJW, between 6-10th of October 2026.

Reclaiming + Upcycling = Recreating. In this workshop you will be mentored by Alain Roggeman, in the process of designing and manufacturing a Jewelry piece with reclaimed or found material that will be assembled within a structure made of metal. Over Alain’s 30 plus year history in the Jewelry making field, he has deeply developed his own style of “recreating” pieces and materials, stretching outwards and constantly seeking new inspiration in materials and techniques For young makers and fully developed professionals, this workshop offers everyone the chance to reevaluate their material and once again approach the bench with “no limits”.

If you're in Bucharest for , this is worth your afternoon. On June 13, Assamblage — Contemporary Jewelry School .school opens its studio doors as part of the BDF GO! circuit. For 16 years, this is where new generations of jewelry designers have learned to work with metal, stone, and unconventional materials. What's on:
- 13:00–14:30 — Live demo workshop: stone cutting - cabochon
- 14:30–15:00 — Guided school tour
- 15:30–17:00 — Live demo workshop: chasing & repoussé
- 17:00–17:30 — Guided school tour
There's also a sales exhibition featuring graduates of the school, now working as residents in the Assamblage co-working space. Participation for all activities is free.

"The artist’s first relationship began with stone. The oldest known artifacts are beads made of bone and stone. This is how it all started. Jewelry has always been essential to Homo sapiens. Today, our relationship with jewelry carries an incredible depth and significance. Jewelry is, in my view, an imperative and a necessity rather than a luxury. The new perspective on jewelry through artist-cut stones expands creative freedom and artistic thinking. We already see—and will see at Growing Gems at Romanian Jewelry Week—how unexpected the results of this new world of stone cutting can be."
