“Romanian Street Art” brings to MoBU a selection of artists who have reshaped the way the city generates image, message, and attitude. Street art enters this context not as urban decoration, but as a socially critical visual language, one that has evolved through walls, paste-ups, graffiti, illustration, music, and pop culture.

AEUL, Alex Baciu, Barto, Maria Bălan, ERPS, Homeboy LDJ, IRLO, Macanache, Robert Obert, OCU, Pisica Pătrată, Mircea Popescu, and ROPER come from different creative backgrounds, yet share the same underlying tension. They work with public imagery, the rhythm of the street, irony, character-building, text, and direct intervention. Each artist brings a distinct way of negotiating with visible space.

The selection offers a perspective on Romanian street art as a living territory, not as a backdrop for the city, but as a dynamic form of visual thinking. At Romexpo Pavilion, from June 3-7, 2026, these practices enter the context of the MoBU International Contemporary Art Fair without losing their original energy. The street does not become tame. It simply changes its surface for a while.
