Paulo Alves - Ceramic author Ceramic author Paulo Alves is a Portuguese ceramic artist, currently living in Cádiz, Spain.

In his most recent work, he purifies the lines and revolves around the space enclosed by the limits of a basic form, the bowl. The vessel thus becomes an artistic concept of an intimate dialogue, visions that Paulo displays in his atelier. We look at Paulo Alves' pieces and it does not feel right to simply call them bowl or vessel; it makes us see in them some of our most valuable attributes: sens

ibility, love and soul. We see the work created by the hands of Paulo Alves as something that, although physically empty, is full of life. If we got close enough we would see that, in each piece, there is a trace of the artist's skin; a legacy more personal than any signature, a touch that awaits in silence, calm and generous, for our own hands.
