THIS WEEK AT WONDER CABINET ★ هذا الأسبوع في مجلس العجب

خطوط، حروف، أشكال هندسية. هذا الأسبوع، يتعمّق مجلس العجب في عالم الفنان والمصمم مثنى حسين. فمن خلال فيلمه المختار، سلام سينما، تذوب الحدود بين الحقيقة والأداء، تمامًا كما ترفض ممارسته الفنية الحدود بين الفن والتصميم. ويتجلّى هذا الرفض في معرضه الفردي الأول في فلسطين: استعادة فنية تمتد على عشر سنوات من تحويل الأنظمة الجرافيكية إلى لوحات، والطباعة إلى مطبوعات، وحروف الخط إلى فضاء. يعود أبو العيس ليقدّم عرضًا حيًا، بالتزامن مع الكشف عن الجدارية التي صمّمها حسين للواجهة الغربية لمجلس العجب، والتي رسمها يدويًا الفنان عايد عرفة، في حوار متجدد مع وادي الكركفة. أيادٍ تتجاوز الحدود، خطوط تتحوّل إلى مادة، ولغات تأخذ شكلها.

Lines, letters, geometries. This week, Wonder Cabinet delves into the world of artist and designer Mothanna Hussein. Through his film of choice, Salaam Cinema, the lines between reality and performance dissolve, much like his practice refuses the boundaries between art and design. This refusal unfolds in his first solo exhibition in Palestine: a retrospective spanning 10 years of transforming graphic systems into paintings, typography into print, letterforms into space. Abul3ees is back to perform live alongside the unveiling of the mural designed by Hussein for Wonder Cabinet’s West façade, hand-painted by Ayed Arafah in a renewed dialogue with the Karkafeh Valley. Hands crossing boundaries, lines becoming matter, languages taking shape.

برج الصوت لمهرجان ع الدرج ٢٠٢٦

من تصميم الفنان والفنان المقيم خوليو سيزار بالاسيو، وبتنفيذ لوكل اندستريز بالتعاون مع مجلس العجب، يقوم برج الصوت على هيكل حديدي أنبوبي بقاعدة ثلاثية الأرجل، مزوّد بمكبرات صوت بوقية ثلاثية المحاور، تُسقِط الصوت في اتجاهات متعددة.

وُلِد العمل من إصغاء خوليو الدقيق لإيقاعات بيت لحم اليومية - المآذن، والأذان، والحياة المجتمعية - ليكون أداة صوتية حيّة تُنشِّط شوارع ع الدرج ببرامج مختارة.

الجمعة، الساعة ٦- ٧ مساءً: أصوات مختارة من مجلس العجب
تضمّ أصواتًا سبق أن مرّت عبر مساحتنا، منهم: جوقة أمواج، لورنس أبو حمدان، لورنس سمّور، دانا عوض، ألاباستر دوبلوم، وجود.

Sound Tower for A’Daraj Festival 2026

Designed by artist and resident Julio César Palacio, built by Local Industries with the Wonder Cabinet, Sound Tower stands on a tripod iron structure with three-axis horn loudspeakers, projecting sound in multiple directions.

Born from Julio’s careful listening of Bethlehem’s daily rhythms, minarets, calls to prayer, communal life - it’s a living sound tool activating the streets of A’Daraj with curated programs.

Friday, 6-7 PM: Selected Sounds from Wonder Cabinet
Featuring voices that once moved through our space: Amwaj Choir, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Lawrence Sammour, Donna Awad, Alabaster DePlume & Jude Qalawi.
