Some of you know me from my alias fiftififti or collectives like Fathertz, Dub Lovin Criminals, or Zło-Tek. Welcome to the profile of my new project - 50KHZ !
After more than two decades behind the console, I decided to launch a new DJ concept before I turn forty.
While reflecting on my life, I felt the need to refresh my DJing to recapture the excitement I felt at the beginning of my adventure with club culture and electronic music. I also wanted to find a format that would allow me to go beyond the confines of a standard set.
50killahertz is an attempt to combine all the elements I love in music. The foundation is a bass, cross-genre selection. I plan to enhance my live performances in many ways. Above all, I’ll get on the mic to connect with you on the dance floor. So, besides mixing tracks, I’m also becoming a hypeman, something I knew from UK parties or raves and I’ve always missed in the local bass scene. At random moments, I insert acapellas from Polish rap, which I’ve loved since I was a kid, mixing them with grime. It adds a message to instrumental tracks and makes the Polish audience identify with them and music at the moment. I refine dubstep or garage tracks with jungle-inspired breaks making them more dynamic. Samples, effects, dub sirens and horns are the way to pay a tribute to sound system culture, boosting energy at key moments of the performance. On the DJ booth, you’ll recognize me by white gloves, which are a symbol of worts kind of techno parties which took place in Poland back in the early 2000s - take that with a pinch of salt.
The name 50killahertz refers to my previous DJ nick, a killa tunes with no compromise, the Fathertz project and one of the first hip-hop groups in Poland - Ein Killa Hertz.
