in her work, Meike Männel, into her immediate surroundings, exploring the yearning for distance, and the extraordinary within the mundane. Her captivating plant portraits are captured, using a bright flash during the transitional periods of dawn, dusk, night, resulting in a unique vibrancy and luminosity. The images convey a sense of power, mystique, entering quality that are inherent in these magical moments of the day. Immersed in nature, one can truly appreciate the beauty that surrounds them. The plant motives featured in Meike Männel‘s work are carefully curated from extensive series, each spanning several years and capturing different seasons.

Through the practice of walking, she delves into the intricate details and hidden dynamics of highways that are often overlooked while driving. One key aspect of her work is her emphasis on wildlife crossings, which serve to reconnect habitats fragmented by highways. These bridges symbolize humanity’s attempt to restore a sense of untouched nature amidst our pervasive influence on the environment. In this 6-part series, Schwarzmeier investigates newly constructed wildlife crossings along the East 65 near Zielona Gora in Poland highlighting the juxtaposition of impermanence and human intervention within the context of wildlife crossing.

Wir laden in die phantastische Welt der derzeitigen Ausstellung in der Modulgalerie im öffentlichen Raum Nürnbergs ein. Die gleich einer Wunderkammer installierten Arbeiten regen die Phantasie des Publikums in „Lost & Found” an: Welche Geschichten stecken hinter den Objekten? Mit wem waren sie vor ihrer Trennung verbunden? Und welche Bedeutung steckt heute in ihnen? Ein eigens für die DIE BLAUE NACHT entworfenes Unikat wird in einem zentralen Raum der Galerie der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert und stellt die erste Zusammenarbeit der beiden Künstlerinnen in einem gemeinsamen Werk dar.
Live-Talk mit den Künstlerinnen: 20:30 bis 21:30 Uhr.
Ausstellung ist kuratiert von Dr. Chiara Seidl und Kasia Prusik-Lutz

We invite you into the fantastic world of the current exhibition in the Modulgalerie in the public space of Nuremberg. LAST DAY‼️

Das Krakauer Haus präsentiert erstmal das polnische Künstlerinnenkollektiv Julia Medyńska und Małgorzata Markiewicz in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kunsthistorikerin Dr. Chiara Seidl.
In ihrem Nürnberger Debüt geht „House of Mice“ mit einer multimedialen Installation der Bedeutung von Heimat und ihrer Verortung nach.
Basierend auf die polnische Herkunft von Medyńska und Markiewicz schöpfen die Künstlerinnen aus ihren eigenen Biographien in erster Linie als Künstlerinnen, aber auch als Hausfrauen, und Mütter und verleihen ihren Werken damit eine weibliche Stimme. Spielerisch geht das Kollektiv auf identitätsstiftende Fragen und Mentalitätsaspekte ihrer Heimat ein, die eine klassische Auffassung des Heims als Ort selbst, sowie der Rolle der Frau als Hauptverantwortliche für das Heim im Innen- und Außenraum hervorhebt.
Teil 2 der Ausstellung befindet sich in der Modulgalerie im öffentlichen Raum Nürnbergs.
Die Ausstellung können Sie noch bis zum 29. April erkunden und alle Werke stehen auch zum Verkauf.

„House of Mice“ ist Teil des internationalen Projektes „Project Unlocked“ kuratiert von Dr. Chiara Seidl.
