Maharaja Ranjit Singh founded the Khalisa Sarkar Sikh Empire in Lahore in the 18th century.
In the nineteenth century, the Khalisa Empire expanded to Jammu and Kashmir, and later,
through the conquest of Governor Gulab Singh, to Ladakh and Gilgit Baltistan.
The controlled area at the time was known as Khalisa Sarkar territory.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh founded the Khalisa Sarkar Sikh Empire in Lahore in the 18th century. In the nineteen century it was expended to Ladakh and Gilgit Baltistan
