Gallery Zaal Contemporary is pleased to present 4x6 Edit, a group exhibition bringing together established and emerging artists from across Pakistan.
Initiated as an open call, 4x6 Edit invited artists to submit an original work within a defined measure of 4 Ɨ 6 inches.
The exhibition brings together a diverse constellation of mediums, perspectives, and visual languages. While each work occupies the same physical parameters, every piece opens onto its own ideas, gestures, and possibilities.
Join us for an evening of art and conversation on Thursday, 24th September 2026.
The exhibition will remain on view through 12th October 2026.

ā€Where the Good Days Liveā€
39 x 27 in, mixed media on canvas

A commission close to my heart ā¤ļø painting someone else’s home means paying attention to things they might not even notice anymore. The dog who’s clearly claimed the couch. The cat mid-stretch on a rug that’s seen better days. Shelves stacked the way books actually get read, not the way they photograph.

Nothing here is staged. Every object was placed with care because it was already there, already loved. This is what it means to paint a home as it’s actually lived in.

Olive green, built up stroke by stroke šŸ’Œnow living at Mercer Mercer'sCoffee ā˜•ļø
There’s something different about seeing a piece find its permanent place, watched over by strangers instead of just me in the studio.

DM for commissions.

This impasto work layers thick strokes of mossy green and pale that shift with the light throughout the day. Installed against warm wood paneling in Mercer’s dining space, it was made to hold a room not sit behind glass, but live inside the everyday.

Ember I & II isn’t about fire. It’s about what fire leaves behind.
This diptych has been the biggest thing I’ve ever made 17.4 feet of red, heat, and everything that stays after the burning stops.

This was never about fire. It was about the warmth that lingers. The residue. The feeling in a room after something significant has already happened and you’re standing in what’s left.

The dark forms pushing through that’s memory. Heavy, stubborn, refusing to disappear into the red around it.

Two panels. One question: what do we call the heat that doesn’t leave?

Ember I & II now lives at mercer , Lahore. šŸ–¤
Come see her in person. She hits different on the wall.

Nobody warned me that becoming an artist means spending money on things that look exactly the same to everyone you live with.
Cadmium Red Light Hue. Vermilion. Both Sennelier. Both red. Both absolutely necessary and I will not be taking questions.
One leans warm and punchy. The other leans warmer and punchier. And yes, that matters. No, I cannot explain it in under 10 minutes. Yes, I bought both.
This is the life. šŸŽØ
