What if the library came to the school? 📚⚡

Lahore is set to launch a new Libraries on Wheels initiative — taking books and digital learning facilities directly to students across the city.

According to the latest reporting citing official sources:

🚐 55 electric mobile libraries
📱 22 tablets in each vehicle
🖥️ LED screens for digital learning
🔌 Charging facilities at schools
🏫 Each vehicle is expected to serve around 100 schools

The electric vehicles are planned to be handed over to the Education Authority, with the initial phase operating through selected pilot schools across Lahore.

Instead of every student needing access to a traditional library, the idea is simple:

bring the library closer to the student. 📚

Guru Nanak’s 487th death anniversary is being observed at Kartarpur Sahib, Pakistan. 🙏

Three-day commemorations are underway at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur, with Sikh pilgrims from Pakistan and around the world gathering to offer prayers and pay their respects.

Kartarpur holds deep significance in Sikh history. Guru Nanak spent the final years of his life here, and the site remains an important place of pilgrimage, faith and remembrance for Sikhs worldwide.

These photographs are from LifeAtLahore’s 2022 visit to Kartarpur Sahib — a place we remember for its remarkable hospitality, service, community and Punjab’s shared cultural heritage.

Nearly five centuries later, Kartarpur continues to bring people together through faith, remembrance and humanity.

Lahoris, do you know Nehru Park in Islampura? 👀

Most people may know it as a neighbourhood park — but this place is connected to one of the most important independence-era moments in South Asian history.

Nehru Park, Islampura, Lahore is linked to the historic 1929 Lahore session of the Indian National Congress, when the demand for Purna Swaraj — complete independence from British rule — was adopted.

Now, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore plans to restore the historic park while preserving its character.

The proposed restoration includes:

🪑 New benches

Lahore’s air quality is currently better than Dubai’s 👀

Yes — you read that right.

On 11 September 2026, live IQAir readings showed Lahore at US AQI 97, in the Moderate range, while Dubai was showing a higher AQI reading during the same day. Lahore’s reading was based on data from dozens of monitoring stations across the city. ([IQAir][1])

For a city that is often associated with smog and poor air quality, this is a surprising snapshot — but it should not be mistaken for a permanent turnaround.

Air quality can change quickly because of weather, wind, dust, traffic, industrial activity and other local conditions.

The bigger question is this:

Can Lahore turn cleaner-air days into a long-term reality?

Cleaner transport?
Stronger industrial enforcement?
Less construction dust?
More urban trees?
Better monitoring?
