The Department of Visual Arts (Institute of Design & Visual Arts) organized the exhibition Basant Bahar 2026, showcasing an impressive display of vibrant kite crafts and paintings created by faculty members and students. The exhibition was held at the NHQ Gallery, IDVA, and reflected the rich cultural spirit of Basant combined with contemporary artistic expression.
The Secretary Special Education inaugurated the exhibition. The Vice Chancellor of LCWU, Prof. Dr. Uzma Quraishi, highly appreciated the efforts of the students, faculty, and organizers.

The Institute of Design and Visual Arts, LCWU, organized a seminar on the historical and cultural significance of Basant titled “Lo Phir Basant Aayi.” The seminar featured Dr. Kanwal Khalid as the resource person, who is an expert in the field of Art History.
Dr. Kanwal Khalid highlighted the cultural importance of Basant and traced its origins to traditional spring festivals, emphasizing its role in regional heritage. Faculty members and students actively attended the seminar and gained valuable insights into the historical and cultural context of Basant.

The Degree Show of the Department of Visual Arts, LCWU was inaugurated on Monday 24th November 2025 by the worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi. The academic art event is a collaborative effort which was organized by the In-charge Dr. Sadia Murtaza, research supervisors, and entire faculty of the Department of Visual Arts. The Degree Show comprises art works of major courses calligraphy, ceramics, painting, and miniature painting from the session 2021-25.
