A MEMORABLE DAY WITH A LIVING LEGEND
These two pictures capture my meeting with the great Punjabi poet Rai Muhammad Khan Nasir during his visit to my village Thatta Ghulamka Dhiroka on February 7, 2026.
In the first picture, I am presenting him my book “Milay Jo Kahkashaan Mein”, a collection of interviews with legendary figures from Indian and Pakistani film, music, and literature. All these interviews were conducted for my weekly radio programme “Kahkashaan” at the DW (Deutsche Welle) Urdu Service.
In the second picture, I am presenting him my book “Schimmel Kahani”, which narrates the life story of the renowned German Orientalist Annemarie Schimmel, based on my long and in-depth interviews with her.
An honour to share my work with a poet whose words and wisdom have enriched Punjabi literature for generations.
