The Blessed First Ashra of Ramadan:
3 Powerful Duas to Recite
The first ten days of Ramadan are the *Ashra of Mercy (رحمت)*—a time when Allah’s boundless mercy showers upon us. Let’s maximize this precious time with these three powerful duas, backed by authentic references.
1️⃣ Dua for Mercy**
اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي
*Allahumma arhamni*
(“O Allah, have mercy on me.”)
Reference: This aligns with the essence of the first Ashra, as the Prophet ﷺ said:
*"The first ten days of Ramadan are for mercy, the middle ten days are for forgiveness, and the last ten days are for seeking refuge from the Fire."* (Ibn Khuzaymah, 3/191)
2️⃣ Dua for Forgiveness of Sins**
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَهْدِنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي
*Allahummaghfir li warhamni wahdini wa‘afini warzuqni*
(“O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me.”)
Reference: This dua was taught by the Prophet ﷺ to a man who asked for the best supplication to make in salah. (Muslim, 35:2697)
3️⃣ Dua for Acceptance of Fasting and Worship**
اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
*Allahumma taqabbal minna innaka Anta As-Sami’ul-Alim*
(“O Allah, accept from us; indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”)
Reference: This supplication is based on the dua of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) after building the Kaaba (Qur’an, 2:127), reminding us to seek acceptance of our deeds.
✨ Let’s make these duas a daily habit and invite Allah’s mercy upon us this Ramadan!
