One Of The Moments When KARAANCHI FEST Really Came Alive!

Karachi has a rhythm of its own. It is fast, loud, unpredictable, but somehow, it always finds its beat. At KARAANCHI FEST, Karachi Drum Circle turned a room full of people into one shared rhythm.

The beat kept changing, the energy and circle kept growing, and somewhere along the way, a story began to take shape.

A little chaotic, very loud, and surely one of the most alive moments of the fest.

What would a Buland event be without stories?
And what would stories be without the people brave enough to share them?

Meet our storytellers from KARAANCHI FEST!

Our storytellers have always been the heartbeat of Buland. They walk into our spaces carrying something personal and leave having shared it with a room full of strangers.

We’re grateful to every storyteller who trusted us enough to share a piece of their world with us and with everyone who was listening.

Because sometimes, one story is all it takes to make a room feel a little more connected.

Now tell us, which story was your favourite at KARAANCHI FEST?

KARAANCHI FEST | EPISODE 8: PEHCHAN

There’s Something Special About A Partnership Built Around A Shared Love For Stories.

That’s what made having Sony as our Creative Tech Partner at KARAANCHI FEST so special.

This episode explores how we got to explore Mad For Film, and Sony’s initiative that brings filmmakers together, encourages collaboration, and creates an space for people passionate about film to connect and create.

And while we were learning about the stories they help bring to life, Sony was capturing the ones we were living at KARAANCHI FEST.

A shared love for stories brought us together, and a lot of stories came out of it.

KARAANCHI FEST | EPISODE 7: MULAQAT

Ghar — Aik Ehsaas | Last Part

For the last three episodes, we’ve been asking, searching, and longing for our idea of ghar, as we followed the beautiful journey of Muntaha and Osama bhai.

So after the Sawal, the Talaash, and the Justuju, maybe it was finally time for a Mulaqat.

In this episode, Muntaha doesn’t take us to a particular place. Instead, she takes us through the many things that can become a ghar for us; the people we love, the dreams we carry with so much passion, the memories we hold close, and the places that call us a little more towards themselves.

So maybe ghar is not a manzil. Maybe it is not something we discover at the end of a journey. Maybe it is something our journey builds for us, piece by piece. And perhaps that is why it looks and feels so different for all of us.

Maybe a Mulaqat with our ghar begins with a Mulaqat with ourselves.

Mujh hi main tha wo ghar sara!

Kinda Chic to Know That Pakistan Was Never Meant to Fit Into One Story!

Maybe that’s why we keep going looking for more.

Over the years, we’ve taken storytelling from the Pakistan we know to the Pakistan we didn’t. From Lyari to Peshawar, Quetta to Uthal and beyond.

And the diversity hasn’t just been in the places we’ve travelled to. It’s been in the people who tell these stories and the people who come to listen. Different cities, cultures, generations, and perspectives, all sitting in the same space, sharing and listening to one another.

And maybe Azaadi is also about having the freedom to bring all those differences into the same room, and still feel safe.

This Independence Day, our oath is to keep listening, keep making space, and keep believing that every voice deserves a place in the story of Pakistan.

Because if Pakistan is made of all of us, what does Azaadi look like for you?

Every festival has the moments you remember. And the people who help you remember them.

At KARAANCHI FEST, Sony’s initiative Mad For Films brought us closer to the art of film storytelling through a session and activity that explored how stories come alive on screen.

And while we were busy making memories, Sony was making sure we could hold on to them too. From the cameras that captured our stories to the goodies that went home with our guests and collaborators, they were part of the experience in more ways than one.

Because sometimes, a good story doesn’t just stay with you. It gets a frame, a keepsake, and a little something to remember it by.

Thank you, Sony & Mad For Films, for being part of our KARAANCHI FEST story.

KARAANCHI FEST | EPISODE 5: TALAASH

GHAR – AIK MUQAAM YA EHSAAS PT.2

In the last episode, “Sawal”, we were left with two people standing on opposite ends of the same question. One was looking for a home. The other had left his, carrying the ache of wanting to return.

In our 5th episode, Talaash, Muntaha ki kahani iss sawaal ko aur gehra karti hai. She went from place to place, thinking that maybe this is where she would finally find home. But at the same time, being away from home made her yearn for the fragments she had left behind.

Toh phir ghar kya hai?

Kya woh ek ehsaas hai? something we carry with us, search for, and keep returning to? Or agar wo ek ehsaas hai, toh iss talaash ki aakhir manzil kahan hai?

The more we look for the answer, the deeper the question gets.

Until we get to the next part, we’d love to hear from you if you have an answer.

Karachi Breaks Your Heart, But Karachi Heals It Too!

At KARAANCHI FEST, CFAW did what they do best. They used the medium of art to held space for us to explore both sides of the city. Its chaos, its heartbreaks, and the unexpected beauty tucked between them.

Through creativity and expressive art, we turned some of those feelings into stories, colours, and fragments of a city we all know differently. We gave ourselves permission to sit with what Karachi brings up in us; the frustration, the nostalgia, the joy, the belonging.

Tell us what’s one thing about Karachi that has broken your heart, and one thing that always puts it back together?

EVERY GAME IS A STORY. AND FOR A WHILE, YOU WERE PART OF IT.

At KARAANCHI FEST, we didn't just want you to hear stories, we wanted you to play through them. Gamers Den brought a fresh, interactive spin to storytelling, turning narratives into levels, choices, and challenges the audience could actually be part of. Because sometimes a story doesn't just move you, but it lets you move within it.

The energy in that session said it all with our audience curious, and completely immersed. A huge thank you to Gamers Den for turning storytelling into something we could play, and for making our evening truly unforgettable.
