Our Creative Designer- Wajeeha Khan, who is leading The Pattu Project was featured on the BBC. This is a happy moment for all of us at KADO; Wajeeha is an amazing team member, and we are glad to have her on board.
The pattu project is a design project running at Thread Net Hunza TNH aiming to preserve and restore the local traditional craft wisdom of handloom weaving with modern interventions.

As we celebrate our silver jubilee, We are grateful to our donors and our mountain communities for their encouragement, faith, and unwavering assistance throughout these 25 years. From the beginning, KADO has focused on impact, growth, and sustainability. We are thrilled to announce the inception of the Pattu Project by Wajeeha Khan in collaboration with Thread Net Hunza TNH (a project of Karakorum Area Development Organization), powered by the Aga Khan Economic Planning Board Pakistan. A vision to bring back to life the indigenous craft of handloom weaving in the mountain community of Gilgit Baltistan. With a unique blend of artisanal and design expertise, the project aims to evolve a sustainable design practice for the market and yet contextualize the craft for contemporary sensibilities, creating a delicate balance and meaningful interaction between then the designers and the artisans.
