Iqbal Khan Jadoon My job is to dignify walls by installing something unique and sacred ie, Huge Islamic Calligraphic Paintings. In fact, this is what we call life.

About:

I am not what I am, but what my Almighty Allah blessed me to be. I am mortal, I am sure; but the exhaustive space between birth and death given to me by the Almighty Allah is a canvas where I can draw the sketches of my dreams and then can strive to turn them into beautiful pictures. I don’t know how much share of this space is left; but the part I have already consumed was full of stakes

and errors; all due to my own faults. The generosity of Almighty has been surpassed and unique, He never reminds me of my committed mistakes and errors at all. He always forgives and welcomes me with giving a one chance more each time. The blessings of His Almighty are the only source of survival for my creative work, my thoughts and almost everything which directly and indirectly belongs to me. If I contemplate over the time passed that will never come back again, I can easily understand that sometimes I was allotted with an enough freedom to design my life at my own will and sometimes I was bound in a way that I was not even able to make a single move. We all are moving through the same track no matter how much money we have, which language we speak, which religion we adopt and which country we belong to. We all are human beings and our problems and ordeals are quite same. Only our personal attitude towards these problems and experiences reveals a great deal of the kind of persons we are. Many years ago when I was in 10th Class at Forward High School Peshawar, I was driven by the idea of becoming a poet so I started to think and write something in Urdu language. I don’t know and may not be able to know ever what caused me thinking like that; I remember thatI liked music very much ,especially Ghazals, which might have directed my attention towards poetry but I am not sure. When I entered the college, I decided to evaluate my poetry from someone expert in thefield. So, I approached Prof Aurangzeb Hurr who was in the Urdu Department of Govt College Peshawar and had affiliations with different sittings of Urdu Literature in Peshawar like HalqaArbab-e-Zaukh and Bazm-e-Bahar-e-Adab. When I met him, I was a little nervous and shy. He asked me to say something from my writings. I presented almost a complete Gazal which I thought to be the best of my poetry. He listened to some lines, appreciated my theme and advised me to learn meter and rhymes of the Urdu Poetry, because I did not know about meters quite well at all. It took me short time to learn what Prof Aurangzeb asked me to and prune my poetry to bring it at par with standard meter and rhymes of Urdu Poetry. In doing so, I had to dispose off a bulk of my earlier poetry. Afterwards, I started attending the famous sittings of Urdu literature in Peshawar like, “Bazm-e-Bahar-e-Adab” and “HalqaArbab-e-Zouq”. My poetry was reasonably appreciated by the contemporary poets in those sittings (Mushairas). Although poetry was a suitable medium for conveying my thoughts and message, something still seemed missing from my life and had to be exposed. That was the world of colours and lines. I mean painting. This was the only thing world which was ultimately linked with my childhood. I still remember when I was in school I always decorated chapter Headings in my notebooks in such a way that it was appreciated and encouraged by my teachers and classmates. So I decided to pose courage for doing calligraphy in the end of 2003. It was night, might be after 08:00 pm, when I took a piece of hardboard which size was almost 2x4 feet. It took a few hours to complete my work about 80 percent. Next day, I took some hours more to finish my pending work. Subsequently there was nothing but an art piece ready for appreciation. It was visited and appreciated by many people and finally purchased by a Turkish woman within a week. I still want to see that piece again, because I could not have enough time to enjoy that piece. I wish I could preserve my initial art work in pictures. Anyhow, as far as life favours, I will really enjoy exploring infinite domains of colours. After all, my aim is only to present the Sayings of Almighty Allah with a touch of unique presentation and colour schemes. It’s one end start with initiative to do it and the other end is infinite. Many thanks in sparing your precious time to know something about me and my life. Yours sincerely,
