Filipina ballet dancer Candice Adea bested 69 other international ballet stars to win the Helsinki International Ballet Competition on June 7. Adea, who is the pride of Ballet Philippines, is fast becoming an international ballet star with wins at Helsinki and the silver medal at the 2010 USA International Dance Competition, which is considered the Olympics of ballet and held every 4 years. It should be noted that her Ballet Philippines’ dance partner Jean Marc Cordero was a semifinalist at Helsinki.
