The Center for Culture and Arts (CCA) of Catanduanes State University proudly recognizes the successful completion of the 400-hour internship of two Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUMSS), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐃. 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐬 and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐊𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐓. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐨.

Throughout their internship, Mr. Sacres and Mr. Tartado demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to public service. Assigned at the CCA, they actively assisted in administrative functions, documentation, coordination of cultural activities, and support services during various office programs and events. Their contributions significantly helped in ensuring the smooth implementation of CCA initiatives.

The CCA extends its appreciation to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences for its continued partnership in developing competent and service-oriented students. Likewise, the office commends the interns for their hard work and dedication, and wishes them success in their future academic and professional endeavors.

𝐂𝐂𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐕𝐈 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞

The Catanduanes State University (CatSU) Center for Culture and Arts (CCA) reaffirmed its commitment to student development and institutional excellence through its active participation in the 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 held on April 21–22, 2026 at VTC Victor Hall.

Representing the office, the CCA Director Santos G. Sorra Jr. attended the two-day training as a member of the 2026 Institutional Accreditation Task Force (Office Order No. 085, s. 2026) under Area VI: Support to Students. This area is chaired by the Director of the Office of Student Affairs and Development Services (OSADS) and brings together key student-centered service units of the University.

Alongside OSADS, the Area VI cluster includes the Registrar’s Office, Sports Development Services, Guidance, Counselling and Testing Office, Office of Student Services for Financial Assistance, Career Development and Placement Services (OSSFACDPS), Alumni Services, and Medical and Dental Services. The CCA plays a vital role in this group by contributing to the holistic formation of students through culture and the arts.

Spearheaded by the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), the training focused on strengthening institutional preparedness for accreditation by enhancing documentation processes, ensuring alignment with quality standards, and fostering collaboration among offices. As part of the task force, the CCA is committed to showcasing its programs, services, and initiatives that support student engagement, cultural enrichment, and artistic excellence.

Through its involvement in the accreditation process, the Center for Culture and Arts continues to uphold its role as a dynamic partner in advancing CatSU’s mission of delivering inclusive, student-centered, and quality education.

𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐂𝐀𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐈𝐈

The Catanduanes State University Center for Culture and Arts (CCA) officially welcomed Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education (BCAED) 3rd year students for their Art Apprenticeship II. The program provides hands-on experience in cultural and artistic work, strengthening students’ skills through real-world exposure and collaboration within the CCA office.

The apprenticeship will be conducted in batches, with scheduled rotation to accommodate all participating students. Sessions will run every Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN, starting April 22 until May 13, ensuring guided and focused training for each group.

The activity is under the supervision of course instructor Charles T. Tresmanio Jr., in coordination with CCA Director Santos G. Sorra Jr..

to Aira Mae P. Suplig, a third-year Bachelor of Arts in Political Science student, for placing 5th in Persuasive Oratory at the 2026 PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival, held on April 9 at West Visayas State University in Iloilo City.

Coached by Ms. Zyra Mae T. Tumala, Suplig represented the Bicol Region and competed against 15 contestants from across the country.

Ahron D. Segismundo for securing 4th place in Dramatic Monologue (Filipino) at the 2026 PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival!

Held at West Visayas State University in Iloilo City, Segismundo, a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English student, delivered a strong performance under the guidance of Mr. Raymund Sandy S. Barcelon. He is the second CatSU student to land on the podium this year, following Aira Mae P. Suplig.

Representing the Bicol Region, he competed against 15 contestants nationwide—bringing pride and honor to the CatSU community.

Acedo, joined the opening of the National Culture and Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026 this Wednesday afternoon, April 8, at West Visayas State University—marking the start of their participation in this national gathering of student-artists.

The Catanduanes State University (CatSU) delegation, composed of student-artists and faculty coaches from the Center for Culture and Arts (CCA), English Language and Speech Communication (ELSCOMM), Center for International Relations and Continuing Professional Development Services (CIRCPDS), College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUMSS), and College of Education (COED), has officially arrived in Iloilo City for the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 (𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐅) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Representing Region V, the delegation is set to compete in the national event scheduled from April 8–11, 2026 at West Visayas State University. The team brings with them months of preparation, dedication, and artistic excellence as they take the national stage.

Leading the delegation is CatSU President Dr. Gemma G. Acedo and the Culture and Arts Director Santos G. Sorra Jr., alongside faculty coaches Zyra Mae T. Tumala, Raymund Sandy S. Barcelon, and Romeleen S. Go-Vela. Together, they guide and mentor the student participants competing in various categories, including Duo Acting, Persuasive Oratory, Dramatic Monologue, and Oral Interpretation of Poetry.

The student-artists representing CatSU are:
