A rich harvest of creativity unfolded at Mindoro State UniversityโMain Campus on February 23โ24 in celebration of National Arts Month. Guided by the theme โ๐ผ๐ฃ๐ ๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐: ๐๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ฉ๐ค๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐,โ the two-day event honored the power of truth and the bravery found in local craftsmanship.
The celebration opened at the Auditorium with an insightful Artist Talk by Mr. Carl Abram L. Alcedo, a ceramic artist from Oriental Mindoro. He shared the delicate process of working with clay and his personal journey of resilience within the craft.
Following the vibrant performances by the ALAB Dance Troupe and Harmonics, the program transitioned to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official opening of the Art Exhibit at the CAAF Library. The ceremony was led by Dr. Jerome Jef M. Zamora, Director for Student Support and Engagement, and Mr. Ross Christian C. Manuel, Deputy Director for Culture, Heritage, and the Arts, together with the guest speaker, Mr. Carl Abram L. Alcedo.
Joining them were Art Appreciation instructors Mr. Eljohn M. Villeza and Ms. Dianne Dudas, as well as cultural group advisers Mr. Vince Angelo Alcedo, Harmonics adviser, and Ms. Princess Karen Hernandez, UHAY Productions adviser.
The CAAF Library was transformed into a hub of creativity, showcasing the works of second-year Art Appreciation students. This exhibit bridged the gap between the classroom and the canvas, using art as a powerful tool for storytelling.
Honoring our roots, the art showcase also featured the artistry of our Indigenous Peoples. Through PMUI (Pampamayanang Mangyan Ugnayan Inc.) and KASAMA (Kaagapay at Sandigan ng mga Katutubong Mag-aaral ng MinSU), visitors could explore and support authentic Indigenous productsโincluding intricately woven bags, baskets, scarves, and braceletsโthat connect contemporary life with ancestral heritage.

This celebration was made possible through the collective efforts of Pamanang Guhit, Harmonics, ALAB Dance Troupe, Xcape Band, KASAMA, the USG officers, and the Art Appreciation students. Thank you for bringing such life and color to our campus.
Art is the harvest of a communityโs soul; it proves that when we honor our roots and embrace our truths, we create a beauty that belongs to everyone.
