Project Zomboid is a SandBox Zombie Survival game that came out all the way back to 2013. Now Project Zomboid isn't the typical zombie survival game, where you just loot up and mindlessly shoot any dubious little creature you encounter. This game leans more on the realistic side of things in an actual zombie apocalypse. I personally love this game because of how customizable the settings are, you can set how fast zombies go, how rare loot is, and even how you get infected. And without further ado let's move on to the review
Story
There isn't really a story to the game but the premise of the game is that you're just everyday person who is now currently dealing with a zombie apocalypse that happened about a week ago(I'm not sure). If you do wanna know the full lore and what happened I suggest you just watch a video about it.
Graphics
While not the most graphically appealing game, it does have it's own charm. Even with pixel graphics the game doesn't fail to immerse you in the world you are in. The zombies models look decent same with most other items in the game, though some items in the game don't have a 3d model so they kinda just lie flat in the world.
Gameplay
Zomboid is a sandbox game, meaning the way you wanna play it is customizable. From Zombie speed, loot rarity, how often you find cars, guns, etc. It's also a survival game meaning you have to survive as well. Before you are put into the game it asks you to choose a playstyle or a customized one, after that you are asked where to spawn from four different locations based on Kentucky, USA. spawns to choose from are Muldraugh, KY, Riverside, KY, Rosewood, KY, and West Point, KY. After that you are asked to create your character build based on actual occupations in real life or you could make a custom build with negative traits and positive traits, because just like real life you can't have the positive without the negative. Anyways after that you customize the look of your character and then you're in the game. P. S. you are to do a tutorial the moment you first start up the game. The survival aspect of the game has you manage your character's negative statuses like hunger, thirst, unhappiness, colds and etc. You can also build with a high enough skill level, because this game has a skill system where if you aren't high enough level in a certain skill then you can't perform the action and can get a bit grindy at times. Also the game is moddable
Game length
Depends on you, there isn't really a set end goal for the game not unless you the player give it one. I personally have about 139hours into the game and have a pretty good character on a different playthrough and a semi decent on in another playthrough.
Replay Value
All i have to say is very big replay value, so it's worth the money
