PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION for Bantog Lokal: Sorsogon Creative Industry Art Festival 2025
September 26-October 26 / SM City Sorsogon
All photographers are invited to submit their original work for Bantog Lokal Photo Exhibit, a free photography exhibition that will run from September 26-October 26 at SM City Sorsogon. This exhibit is part of the Bantog Lokal: Sorsogon Creative Industry Art Festival 2025, organized by the Sorsogon Creative Industry Organization, in celebration of Philippine Creative Industry Month (PCIM).
The theme for this year’s PCIM is “We are a creative nation”, with the aim of showcasing diverse forms of Filipino creativity and artistry in different provinces and cities nationwide.
All photographers—professional, amateur, hobbyists, beginners, and students—are welcome to join! This exhibition is NON-JURIED (open and non-selective), where all photographers who meet the basic requirements and deadline will be accepted to show their original work.
Photographs may be captured using any process—film or digital, alternative processes, or traditional printing. All photographic styles, techniques, and printing methods are welcome. For more information, please read the ELIGIBILITY AND GUIDELINES below.

ELIGIBILITY AND GUIDELINES
Open to all photographers (no age limit):
- professional
- amateur
- hobbyists/enthusiasts
- students
How to join:
1. Register using the REGISTRATION FORM (link below).
Instructions on how to submit photographs will be included in the registration form.
2. Submit the registration form on or before SEPTEMBER 12 (FRIDAY) via [email protected] and cc [email protected].
3. After submitting the registration form, participants will receive a confirmation email.
Please note: There is no registration fee to join the photo exhibit. This exhibition is FREE.
Guidelines for submission of original work:
1. All photographs must be original. The aim is to showcase and celebrate each photographer’s creative style and vision as an artist.
2. Theme/focus: While interested participants will not be limited to the subject of their photographs, they are invited to submit photos that feature SORSOGON and its places, peoples, and culture. Photos that capture the festival themes “Bantog Lokal” and “We are a creative nation” are also encouraged.
3. All genres, categories, and styles of photography are welcome. All mediums, whether film, digital, or alternative, will be accepted. Experimental and mixed techniques are also welcome.
4. Specifications of digital photos to be submitted:
a. JPEG/JPG format; high resolution (5400 pixels longest side); maximum file size of 25 MB for email submission
b. File naming: LAST-NAME_TITLE-OF-PHOTO_PRINT-SIZE (e.g., DE-JESUS_MARKET-RUSH_12x16)
c. All photographs should have digital copies that will be submitted via the registration form. This means that film photos, for example, should be scanned.
5. Captioning of photos (optional): Participants are given the option to write titles and captions for their photos. These should be included in the registration form.
6. Printing:
a. All submitted photos will be printed (except for participants with printed photos). Printing will be covered by the Sorsogon Creative Industry Organization (SCIO).
b. Each participant may submit either two (2) photographs for prints that are 12”x18”, or up to six (6) for 8”x10” or 4”x6” (postcard size) or smaller.
c. Participants may also print their own photos. This should be indicated in the registration form.
7. For photographers with printed work:
a. Participants with readily available prints will still need to submit digital copies of their work for the exhibition catalog.
b. Number of prints/photos allowed per participant: please refer to item no. 6.b.
8. Framing (optional)
a. Participants will be given the option to have their photos framed. SCIO will coordinate this with the supplier; however, participants will shoulder the framing cost (PHP 450-500).
9. AI-generated images are not photographs and will not be accepted.
Guidelines for participating in the exhibit:
1. Manning the exhibit: All participants will be asked to dedicate at least one whole day to man (magbantay) the exhibit at SM City Sorsogon, or at least two half-days (five hours). This is also indicated in the registration form.
3. Participation in sub-events: All participants are required to attend at least one sub-event during the month-long exhibit. More details about the sub-events to follow.
