10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Hitting the Gym
Save this if you're just starting your fitness journey!

1. Results take time
Stop chasing fast progress. Real gains come after 3–4 months of consistency and discipline.

2. Have a workout split
Don’t just “wing it.” Train specific muscle groups on set days (ex: Mon - Chest & Triceps, Tues - Back & Biceps). Don’t hit the same muscle every day!

3. Protein is non-negotiable
No matter how good your workouts are, without enough protein, your muscles won’t grow. Prioritize your intake.

4. Rest = Growth
Muscles grow while you rest. Give each muscle group 2–3 days before training it again.

5. Body dysmorphia is real
You might not see your progress—but others will. Trust the process. You ARE improving.

6. Progressive overload
Want gains? Lift heavier over time. Challenge your body to change.

7. Calorie control matters
To lose fat, eat in a calorie deficit. Know your maintenance level and adjust accordingly.

8. Discipline first, muscle second
The first weeks aren’t about the body—they’re about the mindset. Build discipline first.
