A time when a delay happened in my life.

6 months of coming in and out of the hospital holding my mom’s hand while needles pricked her tired soul.

A delay that bought me some time to take good care of her.

A delay that gained me lifelong friends throughout my Clerkship, the last year in medical school.

A delay that taught me, you are where you need to be. Never behind. Never late.

Just right on time.

Imagine your first heartbreak. Holding it in your hands. Is it heavy? Does it have a shape? What's its color?

This was mine when I valued someone in shades of wrong.

“Teardrops of Spring”

This was a heavy aching contrast of my inner grief when our Mommy was diagnosed with cancer.

As a doctor knowing her prognosis, I had to act strong and optimistic but deep inside were tears I couldn’t let out.

Hence, each leaf of this painting represents all those nights I was silently crying and asking God, “WHY HER?”

PS: If your mother is still with you, go tell her that you love her. Everyday single day.
