Super Typhoon FRANCISCO (MEKKHALA) continues to maintain its strength while moving slowly over the Philippine Sea east of Northern Luzon.

📍 Location: Approximately 410 km East of Aparri, Cagayan

🌬️ Maximum Sustained Winds: 185 km/h
💨 Gustiness: Up to 230 km/h
📉 Central Pressure: 940 hPa
🧭 Movement: West-northwestward at 10 km/h

🌊 Rough seas remain possible along the eastern seaboards of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and northeastern Cagayan. Small fishing boats and other light vessels are advised not to venture out to sea.

Typhoon Francisco continues to intensify over the Philippine Sea and is expected to reach Super Typhoon category within the next 12 to 24 hours while moving west-northwestward north of Luzon. Forecast models indicate that the cyclone may gradually weaken after reaching peak intensity as it turns northward later this week.

⚠️ TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNALS (TCWS) IN EFFECT Signal No. 1 • Batanes • Northeastern portion of Cagayan (including Santa Ana and Gonzaga) • Eastern portion of the Babuyan Islands

🌬️ Current Maximum Sustained Winds: up to 209 km/h near the center (based on forecast guidance)

🌊 Rough to very rough seas remain over the seaboards of Northern and Eastern Luzon. Small sea vessels are advised not to venture out into affected waters.

Tukoy na ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang pinagmulan ng mga baril na ginamit sa naganap na pamamaril sa loob ng San Jose National High School sa Tacloban City nitong Hunyo 22, 2026.

🔹 Isa sa mga baril ay isang 9mm G***k service firearm na nakarehistro sa isang babaeng pulis ng PRO-8.
🔹 Ang isa naman ay pag-aari ng isang private security agency sa Cebu.
🔹 Umabot sa 40 basyo ng bala ang narekober sa loob ng paaralan.

Patuloy ang masusing imbestigasyon upang matukoy kung paano napunta sa mga menor-de-edad na suspek ang mga nasabing baril at kung may iba pang sangkot sa insidente.

Tropical Storm (international name: MEKKHALA) continues to move over the Philippine Sea with maximum sustained winds of around 105 km/h based on the latest model guidance.

📍 The storm is forecast to gradually intensify and may reach: • 144 km/h by Wednesday, June 24 • 108 km/h by Thursday, June 25 • 90 km/h by Friday, June 26 as it moves closer to Taiwan and begins to weaken.
